This post is worth being discussed.

You say "someone tries to pin the crime of a savage group on my religion".

It's not like it was a random crime that we are blaming on Muslims. This mob rioted BECAUSE THEY FELT THAT SOMEONE INSULTED THEIR "RELIGION". They burned down an orphanage, some churches, a courthouse etc. because someone "only" got five years in prison for merely stating an opinion...and not death.

They also got defensive...is it something inherent in the religion that makes you all so defensive?

If anyone, these people pinned the crime on your religion. So why do you get mad at US?

You should not be defensive. When someone posts an article about Neo-Nazis in Germany, I do not get defensive. I "hate" them as much as anyone. I don't try to pretend they don't exist. I don't get defensive when someone says these guys are a problem. Why do you?

I'm glad when rational thought wins out over extreme and delusional paranoia. Hahahahahaha! What do you think the chances are that Islamo fascists will be chasing you and your family?

You are far more likely to be in an auto accident, mugged, and whole list of other things that being chased by Islamo-fascists.

Your post was high quality, my friend... high quality indeed.

LOL, do you realize how ridiculous you sound? You just went from saying that there was something inherently wrong with all of Indonesia, and that area in general, and now you are saying that the whole religion of Islam is also to blame...

Do you even know what this thread is about? The issue at hand? What in the heck are you even rambling about?

We always have admitted there is something wrong with some people of our religion. No one is denying that part. But if you are suggesting we blame Islam for any of it then no, I'll never do that because there is nothing inherently wrong with Islam. Some of the followers? Definitely.

So there is nothing wrong with a rule in Islam that says if someone isn't convinced after three times and his behavior is considered apostasy, he shall be killed?

Where exactly is this "rule" stated?

If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which [is] as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; [Namely], of the gods of the people which [are] round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the [one] end of the earth even unto the [other] end of the earth; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
    —Deuteronomy 13:6–10

Does this mean you are going to start making posts on how Judaism in inherently evil and that all its followers are terrorists in disguise?

Mathloom explained it in some very recent post. Please go find it.

    1) I never said that all Muslims are terrorists in disguise.
    2) I never said that other religions are perfect.
    3) Nevertheless, the majority of the largest terrorist attacks in the world in recent history were committed by people who claimed to act in the name of Islam. Also, when you hear stories about people getting murdered for "blasphemy" or apostasy, you almost exclusively hear them about Muslims. Treatment of women. Etc. Etc.

Yet, you say there is nothing inherently wrong. The usual explanation is "they are poor...it's all for economic reasons". There are a lot of other poor people in the world, you don't see them blowing up planes, killing people for "blasphemy", etc. etc.

The burden of explaining it if you dispute the obvious correlation is on you, not on me.

Obvious correlation? LOL! You are assuming correlation implies causation, and that is laughable.

If you don't see how flawed that reasoning is, then there is no hope of having an honest discussion with you.

    1) You are assuming that I am assuming that.
    2) If you think it is laughable, it should be easy for you to disprove it. Try it. Without insults.

You are also invited to disprove that there is a correlation.

With all due respect, I don't think Mathloom is a scholar of Islam. Nor does he have enough knowledge to comment on such issues as if he is a scholar of Islam. You should read the link that ChrisBosh provided in this thread. Please go find it.

And here is another link citing 100+ scholars/groups/imams/religious leaders from all over the world rejecting execution for simple apostasy, and 100+ signatories to the statement:

    http://apostasyandislam.blogspot.com/

Some include CAIR, ISNA, and the famous Imam Abdul Rauf.

Did you not read the article or even the first page of this thread? This wasn't done in the name of God.

Do not question AroundTheWorld and his arguments. For his crusade against Islam is holy and of just/pure intention... ;)
