Well, obviously state-supported mass killings are much, much better than these terrorists. I mean, suicide bombers are just so icky and distasteful. Don't they know that it's much better to use tanks, bombers, apaches, cruise missiles, etc.? And that if you're going to fight another country, you should take over them rather than using dink-and-donk techniques?
Couldn't help but notice that the "top 25" documented terrorist attacks were all after the year 1975... I am very sure that this History was documented prior to 1975, I mean in my opinion Pearl Harbor could be counted as a Terrorist attack which took over 2000 deaths. The dead give away terrorist attack is the Holocaust, I mean heck even the A-Bomb drops in Japan could be counted as a terrorist attack depending on the person's perception of the event. I am not that keen in history but I am very sure that there are a lot more that could be included in this list that happened between 1940 to 1975 and not committed by Muslims. I am also surprised the Rwanda Genocide is not in the terrorist attacks list, I would like to know what MSNBC's definition of a terrorist attack is.

Does crime become terrorism when it is done by a Muslim? Are murderers terrorists? People are murdered almost everyday in every major city, but it is not terrorism.
Just like in any murder you need to find the motive, and if that motive is someone else that influenced them, they are just as culpable.... DD

This suicide bomber here explicitly stated that he wants Swedish people to die because he feels that they insulted his religion (because of a cartoon...!!). If the guy had been Muslim, but it was a bank robbery, then it would not be terrorism and his religion would not matter. But in this case (and many other cases of bombings and terrorism in the world) it is different: It's not just that he tried to kill people and by chance, he was also a Muslim. It's that he tried to kill people because of how he identified with islam. So Azadre, there is no random correlation as you imply, in his mind, the religion was the motivating cause. Do you see the difference?
Islam needs to make denouncing and squelching terror their #1 priority. They are not doing enough now.

Rwandan Genocide was technically a state action, though as I've often stated, if one looks into the last few genocides (Serbian, Burundian, Rwandan), one quickly sees that the perpetrators are Christian and that their religion played some role (The Catholic Church in Rwanda for example, encouraged the active division between Hutus and Tutsis through institutional separation and propaganda). which, if you've been paying attention to how right wing pundits treat Islamic extremism, means many Christians are genocidal and that Christians are not doing enough to stop and censor genocide.
