It isn't a smear to call a woman a woman, but it is a smear to say a man is really a woman and is just lying about it.

Replace woman with Muslim and man with non-Muslim.

    SHUTUP ABOUT HIS RELIGION.

If someone painted me as a Jew, Bhuddist, Hindu or an atheist, they would have false assumptions about me. If someone claimed I was a Baptist because my father was (who wasn't around) they'd really be off base too.

T_J how can you dare insinuate here that being portrayed as a Muslim doesn't have a negative connotations among the ignorant after 9/11?

So you're insinuating that Obama's insinuating there's something wrong with being a Muslim? Unbelievable. Well, observe The Holy Word of God and let us know what book you're reading from.

As a Christian myself I'm confused with your logic.

Umm, because of the way Muslims are perceived in the U.S. and that, like someone else said, there is probably no way he gets elected if he associates himself with being Islamic?

So, you actually needed me to explain that? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you the pedagogue of the D&D? I mean, I'd be glad to provide more insight if you'd like, but I figured you had that covered.

Sorry but this is over the line.

Your statement proves that A) you know nothing of Christianity and how it differs from islam, or B) that you are just as big a disingenuous liar as you accuse TJ of being.

Either way, please recount how many people the evil 'Evangelicals' have beheaded? Blown up in suicide bombings? Or how about how many women they have murdered for being victims of rape? Or how about how many chidren's arms they have cut off while making the parents watch?

You know, you want to be taken seriously as having legitimate positions, yes you are liberal, which makes it hard enough to take you seriously, but making sickening statements like yours above really does simply disqualify you from any serious discussions, because your brain is flat-out broken, if you really believe what you wrote.

Because it isn't true, yet it is being perpetrated to scare people.

Kind of like you when you talk about economics.

DD can probably defend himself well enough, but this post is total BS, and just another case of someone not understanding shades of grey.

We do not want a government that censors us, restricts the growth of our knowledge, hampers our personal freedoms, mandates we validate their god, or any other nonsense that a new age American theocracy would bring.

It may not be the Taliban, but Taliban Lite ain't too far off.

I don't think he was suggesting that Evangelical Christians are at the same level of moral depravity as the Taliban. But to the extent they are dogmatic in their beliefs and discriminatory towards those with different beliefs, they tend in that direction.

Oh, can the mock outrage, of course I was being over the top. In my view people who are intolerant because of religion are the bane of the world.

It is 100% the opposite of what Jesus said, and to me, that is just as evil as the things the Taliban is doing.

There are plenty of cases of Right wing nut jobs blowing up abortion clinics, and throughout history the Christians have done heinous things to people of other religions.....the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition.

So, please, keep your idignation to yourself......If you are a peace loving Christian than it has nothing to do with you.

But if you are one of the far right nut jobs that want to govern from the womb to the tomb...feel free to feel slighted.

Here is the type of wack jobs i am talking about...

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FQulrXJkgSc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FQulrXJkgSc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Believe it or not I believe in God, and think Jesus had 100% the RIGHT message....

    Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. [44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

To those outside of evangelical religion the literal translation of the bible as fact seems illogical and frankly much of it is contradictory. Insomuch as the adherence to these principals requires one to deny the possibility of other views, and sometimes deny the best scientific evidence, I for one, think that an evangelical would not be whom I would choose to be the leader of a culturally mixed nation.

    Yep. That was me.

I doubt T_J is that... uh... well... uhmmmm... stupid... because he can't be ignorant to the truth of this matter. It's precisely why he fits right into the crowd that thinks it's such a juicy detail. So then, maybe he is...

I doubt it matters if Obama was, is or will be Muslim... unfortunately the ignorance concerning religion... any religion for that matter... is widespread in this country.

As I've stated... some of his policies I just can't morally support, or otherwise I'd say he's destined to win.

The sad thing is, he will lose for many more reasons than are related to his actual policies or politics.
