Legrouper, you would have stats like that too if you miss mots of last season and most of preseason. He'll get better, just give him some time.

He can post, but he's not consistent and as effective...he should stick to his specialty, which are the open long range shots...He's old and slow now, he can't do anything else but shoot and lead this young team...he shouldn't play as much as he did if he's off... that goes for both him AND KT the last few nights...

What in the nine hells is wrong with you? I would be shooting 0% out there, and I did miss most of last season and most of preseason. I would be getting my **** swatted out of there left and right and my passes would all go to the other team. If the choice is between me and Rice, I would go with Rice.

But it isn't. Rice is a veteran, he shouldn't need the preseason to know how to shoot. His joints just don't work like they used to and he has no elasticity in his shot. It is ugly, it used to be pretty.

I was using you as an example , as if you were a veteran. Just watch, Once Rice start getting his shot back and playing better you will feel dumb!!

I'm with ya...I think once Yao establishes his post up game and demand a double team (second half of this year or next year), Rice will be extremely valuable to our team with his long range shooting and experience...

Not as dumb as you will feel once you realize how pretentious your moniker is.

jesus, all you people who are riding Bull like he is a relative are sounding like huge morons. "he was a great influence in the lockerroom, and on younger players". what the hell are you talking about DAROckets? how do you know that? what are you basing that on? that, if anything, is an ignorant comment.

i was stating my opinion, that's all. bullard was a role player who barely filled out his role, and nothing else. tons of other NBA players could have filled the same role, and done a better job, something that the rockets obviously came to their senses and realized by not resigning him. i mean, it isn't like his "awesome" 3-point skills diminished. matt bullard sucked. sorry to break your heart. you can still leave the matt bullard poster hanging on your wall, and you autographed bullard basketball in it's case next to your bed, i am just stating my opinion (but, for the record, it is really a fact). BULLARD BLEW.

you're an idiot DAROckets. be a little more juvenille in your arguments saying "you obviously know nothing about the rockets". how about "I know more about the Rockets than you do...nanny nanny boo boo". or "i am a bigger rockets fan than you". grow up buddy.

I AM RIGHT, YOU ARE WRONG!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAH

p.s. - of course Bullard never complained about anything. if you were a 7-foot scrub who can do nothing but DECENTLY shoot 3-pointers, who has no business being in the NBA, yet gets 15 minutes on the floor each game, you wouldn't complain either.

about bullard, anyone remember when we had so many injuries that bull was the starting pf against KEVIN GARNETT. that was quite hilarious. kevin was probably thinking it was just a joke and after the tip his real defender would come out. well, at least matt gave it his all that game.

Signs that you might be a puppet:

1 - you registered in 1999 and you only have 31 posts.
2 - you talk at length about what a piece Matt Bullard was.
3 - you ruthlessly insult a respected member of the community
    without provocation.
4 - you use the phrase MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Obviously Rice isn't the player he used to be but he can be useful at times. On certain occasions, he can have a mismatch in the post versus smaller or younger players like he did vs Phoenix.

In spite of that, I'm in favor of going younger and faster with Boki or KT.

Dude, thanks for the great PR job you're doing for all us guys with low post counts. Can you also run a similar campaign for all the so-called haters?

Ripping on Rice is wasted energy. Ripping on a beloved figure from the championship run, who 1) had limitations, but knew what they were, 2) had a specific, limited role, but filled it perfectly, and 3) was one funny motherf***er -- well, you deserve to get sh*t on.

Rice is very useful in pinch spots. He is instant offense and the best pure shooter on the Rockets...he's shooting 36% on 3s, thats not horrendous. Opponents have to pay attention to him when he's in the game, so that opens up the post. I mean, geez, he doesnt suck...Tito Maddox sucks, Rice doesn't. Rice is now a role player, and is fulfilling that role as a scorer on the bench. Yall wanna focus on his bad game vs. LA, but how quickly we forget how he nailed two 3s to spark a run, and he also scored off postups in the 4th. So, don't be hatin on Rice when there are other players like Moochie or Jason Collier who deserve most of the blame.

As for Bullard, the guy is one of the top 3-point gunners in Rockets history, so dont say he didnt fulfill his role. Opponents who left him open got BURNED so he did his job.

hamachi, jesus christ, are you serious? do you really think it is necessary for you to campaign for respect because your "post count is low"? ponder that for a second. does that make any sense?

also, will you guys keep on giving me ammunition to respond with on this thread until i post 900 more times? then you guys will agree with me i guess.

some of you guys are all that suck about bulletin boards (hamachi, legrouper, DAROckets). you guys make it impossible to have subjective arguments, and would rather turn coversations from arguments and dissenting opinions, to user-bashing and elitism, thinking that post counts actually plays a role in a user's point's validity. this is exactly why i have posted 30 times in 3 years rather than 500 in 5 months like you. i can make a pretty good guess as to what kind of quality material the bulk of those 500 posts are littered with.

it's a shame, but, as i have seen on various other message boards, inevitable, that filth like you flood these message boards, especially on this, the best fan site in the world. it really takes away from it for the people who want to have a real conversation, or provide some actual insight or opinions on something.

rocketfat, calm down. I made the post-count comment facetiously. I could give a rat's ass about post counts -- but unfortunately, too many others do.

I'll admit I've made some antagonistic posts, and also posted some no-sh*t-mister-truism inanities. But I think I've refrained from name-calling, and you probably should do likewise.

What a waste of space on the roster. I agree w/ Baqui99 and get Shane Battier in here. Maybe we can package Moochie and Rice for Battier. Or is that too much?
