[relaxed]Nine years later, who'se responsible for 911?

i have zero interest in engaging in 9/11 theories - its been beaten to death here and its just boring now. if you are really that interested in my opinions it would probably be easy to do a search and find them.

furthermore, i dont really see the point in discussing this stuff w/ someone who says that if you dont believe the official story that you are an 'IDIOT and need to get out of America' and who thinks that those who question the official story are 'badmouthing your country'. first, the government is not the country and second, this is my country too and last time i checked we still had freedom of thought.

the point of me posting those articles about operation northwoods was to dispute the claims made by people that the government would never think of doing such a thing when clearly they have.

The United States government is certainly responsible for 9/11, just indirectly. Its creation of the Taliban to defeat the Soviets, then abandonment of them allowed them to radicalize even more and allow al Qaeda to operate freely. Our government's arrogance in trying to police the world, its propping up of dictators, its attempting to overthrow dictators when they acted like dictators, its military bases in Saudi Arabia, and its support of Israel, made the United States the most popular target of idiots willing to blow themselves up because they think it's what Allah would want. The US Government was completely incompetent in all of its efforts to gather intelligence or catch very obvious terrorists who were plotting to kill Americans to protest our government's foreign policy.

To those who voted for bin laden, how does a guy living in some cave that requires dialysis bring down the most powerful nation in history of civilization to its knees? Kind of sad if you think about it.

The subsequent Patriot Act that followed 9/11 destroyed America. It will never be the same.

 

Lets see two wars that have stretched our army thin and increased our deficit. Money for homeland security and TSA which they don't deserve. The Patriot act which pretty much goes against everything the founding fathers believed in. This is the country the defeated the German Blitzkrieg, and took down the Japanese, and we can't get a 50 year old guy in poor health who lives in a cave and taunts Americans every once in a while.

 

i believe that the goverment, the CIA had warnings of an attack but did not take it as seriously as they should have. of course the blame and the mastermind is obama and al queda but the government definitely had it's chances to avoid it from happening.

 

Well, the second war was stupid and had nothing to do with 9/11, and the second one has been fought half-assed. So, Bin Laden didn't make America weak, stupid American policies weakened the United States. That simple.

 

our economy is in tatters and we are quickly devolving into an orwellian police state (freaking body scanners???). thats pretty much exactly what osama said he wanted to happen.

9 years later it should be pretty obvious who 'won'.

everyone has changes or evolutions in their opinions, but how do you go from one extreme to the other like this? you remind me of those ex-gay guys who 'turn' straight and become right-wing fundamentalist christians who become outspoken critics of gays.
