Dude, there are things going on deep inside that girl's head that you wouldn't understand without a PHD in psychology. I would bet there are even more 'events' you don't even know about, possibly when she was a child. The human psyche is a fragile thing, self worth can be influenced by factors the self has no control over, it can be influenced by biological factors that conflict with accepted morals. It can adopt self destructive behaviors to punish it's own perceived inadequacies. Now that is a recipe downward spiral if I ever heard one, but it is within human nature.

You can't save her, you can only understand that she is damaged. You can be there for her, but you have to keep enough distance that she doesn't drag you under too.

And you are not the only one. My buddy's wife left him for a woman after they had a child. Her relationships were never stable and he had to be the primary parent with her only getting supervised visits. Consider yourself lucky and try to have fun dating; looking for an emotionally stable partner.

Speaking of people with psychological issues, my last dude had three women(including me)...there are some days that I feel sorry for him because I believe he do have some psychological issues that he cannot handle on his own. He has not left me alone and it has been almost a month. He needs help but I don't want to get him some help because he will NEVER be out of my life. He doesn't want to let me go. It is like a ping-pong between us...if his ex tells him **** off then he will bother me and if i tell him **** off/ignore him then he leaves me alone and bothers her...vice versa. I have been so mean to him and then I read this thread...makes me feel bad because he does have problems and I should not be spiteful. =/

no offense meant, because I really don't know much about you or your situation, but it seems to me that it's not about someone being screwed up or having problems, it's that some people are so selfish they only care about themselves and their desires. All they care about is what they want, and they do not give any consideration about the feelings of the person that they claim to care about. Horrible and no way do they deserve pity
