Why bother? Bosh wants to go wherever Lebron is. Tmac is going nowhere until at least the trade deadline. No team is going to trade for a player worth 20 million dollars to just sit first half of the season. Unless we can get a great player from a rebuilding team, I say just wait and let Tmac's contract come off the books at 2010.
I don't know why anyone intheir right mind would want him back on the team. This guy is has more injuries and miss more games than all the other rockets players combined, even more than Yao! and every single year its the same story... crazy! He is named T-Wack for a reason!
T-Wack? Seriously? Some people on this board really need to grow up. Anyways, I would love to see Tracy back on this team next season. I hope his rehab goes well and he comes back stronger than ever.
And that is what he probably is doing. He knows it will be a contract year and he needs to earn some money...
Ok, let's be rationale about this and not let our emotions speak. Every sensible human being wishes Tracy the person the best in his rehab process. Also I think everyone in their right minds knows most of the criticism Tracy has received over the years was exorbitantly and unjustified. It is clear that Tracy has had problems that has caused him to reach his potential, whether it has to do with his body or mental state. Yes, Tracy has given up on a Orlando Magic team because of frustration losing game after game. Yes, Tracy has run his mouth about how good he is and it has cost him dearly. Yes, Tracy should've rehabbed during the summer and come back strong. Yes, Tracy has not given his all for the Rockets and yes, sometimes he is a guy who looks for excuses and tries to blame others for his own faults. Truth is, we do not know what really goes on and went on behind closed doors. What we know is that Tracy is not the best teammate in the world and has an ego that made him put himself over his team at times. The fact he shut it down was not just out of necessity, it was also because he knows next year he has to prove he can still play to get his money. Truth is, Tracy acts like he doesn't care about everybody else thinks about him but that's just an act. Of course, he cares, deep down he really does. Think about how you would feel if you get flamed almost every single time when your team loses a game, a series, a chance at advancing to the 2nd round. Tracy has proven over and over again that he has talent which he partly blew away by not being the leader that everyone expects him to be. He's not a leader, you cannot force him to be one but JVG instilled this in him so that's why he put it all on him. You saw how he handled it after the loss of Game 7. It was too much for him so along with the expectations, Tracy buckled under the pressure. This is who he is and nobody can change that. We should feel sorry for Tracy as a human, but not as a player. As a player he failed for every team he has played. He did not give his all in every single game, he started only wanting to be a defensive player and ended up being a offensive-only player, he didn't put much effort in rehabbing which could've cost us the season, he quit in Orlando and more. With regards to Tracy choosing not to work hard enough to play both ends of the court is something that occurs a lot in football. Players like Romario, Ronaldo, Suarez the guys who are supposed to score and almost never come back to defend. Sometimes it's their task to hang around the opponents defense so they can capitalise on a break. Most of the time it's because they think they're doing enough on offense so they don't have to play defense. It's a sad mentality but it happens. Personally I blame Tracy as a basketball player too for quiting, not giving his all, just playing on the offensive end, turning it up in the playoffs while preserving this 'talent' during the reg season, for not rehabbing enough, for taking the easy road etc. As a Rockets fan, it is justified to not like Tracy and never wanting to see him in a Rockets uniform again. It is justified if you do not want him to be there on the bench with the guys he failed by coming into training camp out of shape, by not giving his all and by complaining about not getting enough touches. Truth is, he probably did his best under the circumstances, with his mental state and all the injuries in the back of his mind, which was simply not enough for us fans as well as his coaches and teammates. You have to keep in mind he was not supposed to play this long with his body and after a surgery I can understand he's anxious. Let's not forget how he played hurt last year too. So to conclude, we should all support him in this since as human beings we should wish everyone well. (it's not like Tracy's a bad person like a criminal or anything). I wish him the best in his rehab, his personal life and his life as a basketball player but just not as a Rocket anymore. If he comes back next year and does well on another team, congrats to him but it's logical people do not want to see him as a part of this team. Those days are long gone and he should not expect anything more from Houston than a hand shake, a "good bye" and a "farewell".
Happy to hear his rebabbing is going good. hope to see him on the floor next year. he is still my favourite player.
I still would welcome a healthy tmac back, but if he isn't healthy cut him loose and get someone that can help.
Congratulations to Tracy on the child! I'm glad the rehab is apparently going as well as possible. If he's 100% next year, I'll be the first to welcome him back. If the Rockets decide to move on, well, good luck to him where ever he lands. Some of you people act like he shot your dog. I don't understand the "hate" for a Rockets player not named Pippen.
Nice blog post and happy for him to have more healthy kids. But seriously, many of you here need to be routing for his successful rehab. There are two outcomes to a successful rehab: 1) He returns to the Rockets and helps lead us to a championship 2) He is healthy enough to make a great trade to get us a player (s) that will help lead us to a championship. If his rehab is not successful, we probably can't make any trade next year and he would not help us like we need to make a championship run. So stop all the hate and encourage him to make a speedy and 110% recovery!
yeah, i put all my faith in a francis comeback. after that disappointment, i have no energy to waste on tmac. if he had francis's heart... that would be a different story, but. yeah. need to save my energy for the neck and neck playoff games. get my IBC root beer and Rudy's BBQ ready. worked in 94 and 95.
At the earliest, he can come back around All-Star time, which also happens to coincide with trade deadline time. If he isn't dealt by then and hypothetically he buys into the new Rockets system, it will still take some time to work his way back into playing shape. So, I don't see TMac making a comeback with the Rockets. Plus, his age and history of injuries make it harder to imagine him ever regaining his previous form.
tmac will not to playing with the rockets, book it. If rockets can go pass first round or second, then tmac days are numbered for sure. we will either try and get a player we want thru trade and use his expiring contract as bait. or we could just use it ourselves.
Yeah, he has carried us every other year...to a low seed and 1st round exit in the playoffs. Yeah, T-Mac is sooooo great this team can't live without him.
