I would love to see a T-Mac come strong next year and play the rest of his contract here (would NOT resign). Perhaps have him come off the bench for us.
DD, do you know if Trace is actually typing these blogs, I mean, as an exercise? hmm....Talk is cheap. I have heard the same thing before this season started. I bet my bottom dollar that when next season starts, he is still a lost soul.
The Rockets don't owe him anyting, literally or figuratively. We paid him plenty for his services. He doesn't owe them anything either, even if he underperformed due to injury and whatever else. This isn't even hate. Just facts. It's time... to move on. Given how long it typically takes to fully recover from microfracture surgery (not just the knee itself, getting in game shape, fitting in with an evolved team, etc...), it would be surprising to see him play a meaningful minute next season. And they will not resign him.
I understand there's a reason to have some hate for T-Mac due to his recent decisions and work ethic, but you can't deny the good things he has done as a Rocket, especially all he's done that contradict most of your posts in this thread. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/R-ju1HELZsA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/R-ju1HELZsA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/D5KjSA29Rhs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/D5KjSA29Rhs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/b5L8bxVXhlM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/b5L8bxVXhlM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yVIy4_8Sif4&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yVIy4_8Sif4&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FtpWVp07A14&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FtpWVp07A14&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0c3_mPo8y1I&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0c3_mPo8y1I&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
it's a contract year. if he doesn't do anything next yr, expect him to retire. so assuming he still wants to play, there's a lot of motivation to get himself back into playing shape and prove he can still play to get another 3 year contract at least. and he's staying in chicago where all the doctors are to monitor his rehab. this is not something he's doing solo like last offseason. and plus, last season is really the only season tracy came in out of shape as a rocket.
Well who the frock do you think you are that you can decide who deserves to wear a Rockets uniform or not? Are you Daryl Morey? Les Alexander? Are you even part of the Rockets coaching staff, or the ball boy at least? Considering T-mac is still under contract I don't know how you can say he never be a Rocket member again, when he's still a member right now I for one am happy to hear him rehabbing. Hopefully he'll come back strong next year and give our already strong team a major boost.
Good things that HE has done. For the Rockets? Well... we hope our never ending curse of not passing the 1st round ends this year. Tracy McGrady in his prime was great. I can't compare him in his prime or Wade. They are both great and have their unique abilities. I would agree with you, but the part where you said that everything that he said was contradicted is false. Tracy hasn't done anything for the Rockets in the most important part of basketball: winning. If he does the rehab great, then good for him and us. But even after the rehab, how much of his athletic ability will be there? (And it was on the decline before this surgery/knee issue) As a fan of the Houston Rockets, you can hope for the best. Though, I believe we should lower our standards and just think whatever Tracy can give us next season is just a luxury.
[rquoter]You guys ready for these playoffs to start? Man, I can’t wait. It’s tough to watch your team out there playing when you want to be a part of it so badly, but I’ve turned into the team’s number 1 cheerleader.[/rquoter] You have to actually be at the games to be a cheerleader, don't you?
there are a lot of posts in this thread that make me feel our exceptional long playoff drought might be well deserved.
Why do people on this forum kick somebody when they are down? this is truly rude and disrespectful towards humanity itself. Do wou really think T-mac just gave up and quit? the answer is no. he did his best, but it was just that his body was not following his brain. I hope T-mac comes back and show all doubter, on this forum and in reality, what he truly can do. Remember he is still 29 and his surgery focus on a part of his leg that is not as severve. Get well soon and Good luck
Sure he has. He has contributed the most for the past couple of years. If you're talking about playoffs only than he has contributed more than Yao for sure.
There is no way for TMAC to come off the bench. Just like AI, he'd rather sit or be in injury list, or even retire, than being a bench player.
I'm not sure what is 'daydreaming' about that statement. Him being motivated by a contract year is hardly grounds for you to be so pretentious. Why don't you stop sippin' haterade for a bit.
