What if I told you that money isn't the only factor in this? Humble guys like Reggie who have worked their tail off to get to the league aren't going to be content with that money after just being cut. It's a devastating feeling. He wants to play on a championship caliber team, and he was a hair away from doing so. It isn't easy.
No surprise here. It´s always nice when you kind of feel bad for losing the 16th guy. Some people in the league may not realize it, but this team is deep. We´ve got 6 clear starters on the rosters and 2 guys, that could start for some bad teams. Add to that some quality young guys with potential and some insurrance players that have already proven, that they can contribute. I feel real good for this team - a real PF and a scorer of the bench (if we don`t go the Lin as 6th man route) would help, but let`s not get greedy after getting Harden and Howard in not even a years time!
McHale likes to run two point guards at the same time, and both Lin and Brooks are very good as combo guards....Canaan will be at RGV for most of the year unless he just starts killing it and we have an injury at the PG position(knock on wood). That leaves three and with the small ball for stretches it is actually very wise to carry three on the active roster. As for PF...Casspi can swing to SF as a big three if necessary and Montejunas is starting to show ability as a backup center in a smaller lineup. They have varied skillsets so having them allows for alot of different lineups.
