I think he's basically saying that Bush is not good enough to be a protoypical running back so they need another real running back to compliment him. Multi-back isn't a type of running back but rather an approach that a team takes to their running game.

Translation: Running back who's better as a wide receiver/return man than he is a running back.

Multi-god or not hes a gamebreaker. And little more. And the only thing more overrated than a gamebreaker only type player is a turnover prone gunslinger.

Faulk, too was a great multi-purpose back.

Do you have to do all three well to be considered a multi-purpose back or does two out of three count?

As long as he keeps helping my fantasy team, I don't care what position he's at. I wouldn't choose him to be my every down back for sure, though.

You guys are focused on the wrong Metcalf; you should have seen Terry Metcalf in his time.

To compare Bush to Westbrook and LT is laughable. Call me when Bush carries the ball for 1,000 yards in a season in addition to all the receiving yards and scores TDs in double digits like both of those guys have.

to compare Bush to Faulk is just as laughable.

Faulk is gonna be in the hall. He was an every down back in Indy and STL. Ridiculous and stupid.

I think so too...Bush IS Hester at RB, actually might be a better WR than Hester

Bush could ultimately be a Brian Westbrook type of back, but he really needs to work on his running game (a part of me doesn't want him to succeed, don't really like him and makes our Mario pick that much better)

I was behind by 30 on Monday morning with Bush going that night. Yahoo is blocked at work. I wonder if Reggie saved me again.

I'm a USC fan and even I can admit that Reggie isnt an every down back. I doubt he will ever have a 1000 yard season on the ground. This coming from a guy who really wanted the Texans to take him #1, before anyone thinks I am a Vince fan or something. Texans made the right pick in Mario.

Multipurpose meaning he could catch passes, block, and run the ball.

Sorry wags, you're fighting a losing battle here...

he's the greatest running back of all time. he reminds me exactly of gale sayers. he's completely transformed the position. the biggest "can't miss" prospect likely ever. and usc is unbeatable. who can beat them???

Useful player to have on your team. He's gonna win you a couple games a year with his explosiveness. His stock is probably rising a little bit, just as VY's is falling some.

I think the Texans clearly made the best decision. Course since New Orleans has more overall talent and Tennessee much as it pains me to admit has MUCH more talent this one good decision is probably not gonna have much impact in the ol' win/loss column.

    that's so true. :D

Bush is a great compliment player along side a workhorse RB. As a key RB, he is very average. Worth a few big plays but that's about it. He is most dangerous as a receiver or a kick returner...but not as a runner.
