I think the Patriots should sign him. Put him in the same role as Welker. He's got just as good of hands as Welker and more speed. The NFL's free-agent frenzy officially begins Tuesday, March 12 and ESPN.com will keep you updated with all the twists and turns of the signing period. The Miami Herald, citing an unnamed source close to Bush, reported Sunday that the running back will not return to the team next season. Three teams contacted Bush once the NFL's three-day negotiating period opened Saturday at midnight but the Dolphins haven't shown any interest in retaining him, the source told the newspaper. Miami apparently will go with Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas at the running back position in 2013. The 28-year-old Bush proved that he can be an every-down tailback in Miami, rushing for 2,072 yards and 12 touchdowns in two seasons with the Dolphins. In 2012, Bush played in every game for the first time since 2006 and fell just shy of his second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season, finishing with 986. In 91 career games, Bush has 4,162 yards rushing and 2,730 receiving with 48 touchdowns (29 rush, 15 receiving, four return).

Patsies won't pay him starting RB money, but Detroit might. Shane Vareen is much cheaper and has great hands.
They used Ridley all year, he's a running back not a pass catcher. Bush is overrated, will be overpaid, and gets hurt often (as does Jackson). Considering the types of players the Patriots sign and the way they pay players -- Reggie Bush is simply beneath the Patriots.
Patriots need defense and some young receivers, with our without Welker. Their running attack is actually good. Bush on the Patriots would be going back to this Saints role as forced-fed part-time runner/glorified decoy. He'd be a Danny Woodhead replacement. After proving that he can be a full-time ball carrier, that seems a step down. Lions make some sense. He can be in a run share getting majority of carries depending on matchup. Or a team like the Jets that just needs SOME weapons.
