Ooops, I was wrong about the situation. Can't trust NFL dot com. Here's what happened, from the Mario article in that other thread: Haven't heard from jgreen91 in a while. I hope he's OK.
Last I checked VY had more rushing TDs and much better average than Reggie Bush. Last I checked Leinart was still looking for a W and had 2 back to back atrocious games despite having the best receiving duo in the league. No rookie would help Tennessee as much as Young has, I am sure they are happy with their decision, he has done real well for a rookie QB pressed to play after 3 games on a really bad team--certainly far less of a bush than Mr Reggie Bust himself. It was a highlight worthy play. Bush is a great speedy athlete when you get him in the open field, as we all thought. Bush has had 2 highlight plays in 8 regular season games, and 1 in 4 preseason games. That's great, a bunch of average to negative yardage plays mixed in with a spectacular play ever 4 or so NFL games. After 4 years if he stays healthy he is going to have tons of highlights for those who care more about that than getting your #1 type picks to stamp their influence game in and game out.
To jgreen91, Saw Reggie's highlight yes, the TD was sweet, but ... the Saints lost yesterday as did VY's Titans. Scoreboard: Reggie: 1 TD rushing; punt return=2 Mario: 4 1/2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, several passes hurried, several hits on QBs. Which one is making the greater impact, jgreen91? Bush needs the Saints rather than the Saints need Bush right now. Whereas, the Texans actually NEED Mario. He is making a difference!
Mario Williams has been playing with plantar fasciitis in his foot half the year. Rockets fans saw how it affected Steve Francis years ago. Its been getting worse and his play has been getting better. Bad ankles for a running back is a bummer but Bush hasn't been the only one playing with pain.
I don't see how Reggie can get better. I'd rather have Mario or VY right now. Jgreen hates Texas so much that he's still riding Reggie's jock. Most of the great running backs now were great during their rookie year, quarterbacks, not so much. As for Vince being a bust, imo, he plays with an untalented team. He's not throwing to Fitzgerald or Boldin out there.
yet running backs are supposed to run with the football (directly towards reggie bush, who hasn't done much at all)
And running backs should be able to run, right? Let me know when VY passes for negative yardage in a game. Either way, Mario is getting sacks, which is what a DE is supposed to do, right? Again, will you show face when Bush has his next bad game and why do you hide until he does something positive (in case you "missed" those questions)?
VY is having trouble throwing the ball (or course all 3 rookie QBs playing right now have had bad throwing games, VY looked the best of them this weekend), but he can run. Reggie Bust is having trouble running, AND his throwing sucks too. He is quite usefull on punt returns and reverses, I give him credit for that.
I still wouldn't say he's having a great season... and there is room for improvement. But I think we can stop the "bust" talk.
he showed all of his potential today. i still agree he's not having a great season but the potential from todays is very interesting.
seeing his performance today makes it hard to see the that the texans passed on him...but go Mario with the hit on brooks that led to the interception.
So who's all in the draft? Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Vince Young.. With the first pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, The Houston Texans select.. Mario Williams! LOL! Hilarious!
Maroney still the best running back by far. Reggie is a good receiver but nowhere near his teammate Colston, the ROY.
