I'm guessing they thought Yao was yelling at the guy who he dunked on. They didn't give KG a tech because he was focusing his energy on the crowd. It's just like Deke when he gives the finger wag to the crowd, it's OK, but not if he does it to the player he blocked.
well, i guess that does make sense re: kg. but, i don't remember yao yelling directly at the opponent. so does this mean that road teams cannot yell???
I agree that was a bull**** call. However, from the view of the replay, I guess I could see why the official thought that, but it was definitely a terrible call.
Most inconsistently reffed game of the year. And KG gets away with more BS towards refs than anyone. I couldn't believe they called Yao for a tech. The only argument would be that Yao stepped out of character, but I thought the new rule set aside any 'demonstrative response' towards a call or a no call -- If this WAS the case, KG would have been ejected by half time YAO GETS NO RESPECT, even when showing a little passion. It was a sad, sad call.
btw, does kg have any other word in his vocab other than "mother******"? and does he have to say it after every free throw? has anyone else noticed this?
man is any one watching this game and seeing the same thing i am? luther just got shoved out of bounds and nothing was called so the wizards got the ball. also its the same old stuff with yao, he is getting raped and nothing is being called
Yao is just too nice a guy. All it takes is him complaining about not being treated fairly to his CHINESE fan base, and Stern will see NBA sales in China drop by 30% in a month and then refs will get a "treat Yao fair" memo from Stern.
