Refs will not let rockets win the series for sure, but they will let rockets win a couple of games for a better drama.
I would think they want at least 6 games so they can market this thing to death... Shaq vs. Yao etc....
Anybody remember the Fakers' first round series against the T-Pups? Game 3 in LA was called so badly and so biasedly in favor of the Fakers that the league apologized. That didn't seem to change much for the other games though so I'm expecting the calls to go the Fakers way in this series. Does anyone believe that Shaq would be as dominate as he is if the refs actually followed the rules for offensive fouls when he has the ball? I said this in another thread but its a sad trend in the NBA that refs give so many breaks to stars rather than forcing them to play the game according to the rules.
the refs will call this fairly because it's high profile? lakers/kings two years ago was very high profile, the best matchup in the last 5 years, and game 6 was so bad ralph nader was sending letters to david stern (literally). why will we be treated any better? the only thing we can hope is the lakers continue to play so little defense that they don't give the effort to foul us and get away with it.

Chinese TV stations should threaten David Stern on breaking down the ongoing broadcast contracts in 2004-2005 if there is no ref advantage for Yao over Shaq in the Playoffs.
