My suggestion for Yao: Knock someone down like Mutombo. There will be less guys will push him around. See how Shaq doing it once in a while. That's the only solution.
The refs were blowing the game for a long time. There was a lot of touching on the perimeter going on, keeping the game close. I dont even have to mention the out of bounds calls the whole arena could see. Its like sometimes they werent even paying attention. I dont think Ive ever seen this group before, so maybe they were just noobs. Please tell me Yao knows martial arts, Id love to see him front kick someone right in the chest a la Kareem Abdul Jabar in the "Game of Death". Preferably Dampier.
I agree, it seems like front court players are allowed to get away with a lot of slapping and physical contact, while back court players will get called for a foul for the slightest touch.
As a fan of the NBA, I just can't take this kind of crap anymore. The zebras have too much control in the outcome of the game. I'm tired of make up calls first of all! This ruins the integrety of the whistles...why can't they just call it like they see it? If they think they made a mistake, just fess up to it and move on but do penalize everyone, both teams, fans and the inegrity of the NBA, for their stupid mistakes by calling another stupid mistake to balance things out. It's garbage. As for reffing Yao, its so out of hand this year. In this league, if you want calls you litterally have to beg, cry, kick and scream to the almighty stripped ones to get some kind of calls going your way. Yao doesn't do these kinds of things because he's being respectful to them but hes being punished for being polite and not complain. Everytime somebody complain and get a T, they normally almost immediately get their calls going their way afterwards, especially if they are stars. Something's got to change from the top, there needs to be serious reforms or else this will go way out of hand like what the judges have done to professional boxing.
i was at the game as well and had really good seats (moved my way down there of course) behind the backboard on the Rox bench side and i must say, the officiating was really bad. even tho the TC was not nearly sold out, i really appreciated the way the crowd booed the refs during that one timeout in the 4th, i believe. it seemed to go on for almost a minute. i won't forget #71 and 26 refs for awhile. they did s*ck. but at least it was on both ends.
I agree. The only time they blow the whistle is to bail out the defense. They won't call any fouls, and then as soon as Yao seals his man and receives the ball, they call the foul. To the untrained eye, it might appear that they are giving Yao the call, but they are really just bailing out the defense.
