not just the bad ft's.. when deron and boozer were BOTH out for a quite a damn while in NBA postseason speed of time.. behind by two points.. only managed to take the lead, extend it to 3.. and keep it for what was it.. 1min? during that time.. they had 3 shots.. failed on all three.. thats an extra 6 points.. so.. actually.. adding to what you said.. it should've been a win.. not an OT..
i thought they played hard at the end, whether they made mistakes or not, that is all you can truly ask for at the end of the night. plays are made some nights, and not made others. but whatever the end result is, its the effort put forth that matters most, and adelman apparently has said pretty much the same thing in his press conference tonight. but as for with a full healthy roster this team depends on favorable matchups, i completely disagree. having a healthy yao and rafer changes the team's dynamic completely. when scola gets the ball and spins into the lane, there won't be a second big man there to stop him, he'll be standing next to yao b/c no one leaves yao open. when rafer penetrates and yao is on the floor, he gets easier layups. tracy doesn't have to carry such a heavy load for 3 quarters before tiring out if yao is there to do what he normally does. this team, healthy, can beat anyone, simple as that. if you don't agree, so be it. but all i can really hope for is that the team plays hard and that they are healthy next year(i would love to have mike miller shooting open jumpers for us though!!!).
if you truly believe that... then yeah.. you should have zero disappointment.. as it pretty much says 'this team didn't even belong in the post season'.. this team was only missing one of their starters during the 12 straight win streak(latter end of the 22) after Yao went down.. and please don't include Tracy's injury.. didn't factor in in game 2.. game 2 was certaintly not on tracy.. despite that 24 footer he chucked up when he was already out of gas..
Damn ******* tony ******* a******* . He screwed up but ****e the game in the last minute like that is unacceptable. Called a foul because korver blocked by the rim!!?? How about calling the same thing at BOTH ENDS!!! If only I have that ref address...
Better yet, name one time he even got the call on his flop. Even if the Rockets try to flop, they won't get calls the way other teams do. I don't know where all the hate for Houston came from
im prolly gonna get murdered for saying this, but on the scola offensive foul, the refs made the right call. go back and look at the play. scola reaches his hand in front of ak47's chest and slows him down. did andrei flop and overexaggerate? yes. but scola did give him the opportunity but sticking his hand out for no legal basketball move. would it have made a difference on the play if scola hadnt touched him? yes. ak's length was a constant on the defense and it would have made for a much more difficult shot had he gotten to tmac. not to mention the jazz didnt even bother to get a hand up to defend the shot since everyone on the floor heard the whistle. if you miss free throws, then dont complain about officiating. we could have won this game and possibly the last with some made free throws. lets be objective here- otherwise we'd be no better than the idiotic and irrational jazz fans. there was a lot more than just that call.
it's adelman's first postseason with the rocket's.. JVG was inclined more to doubt the refs his first postseason with the Rockets.. he wasn't as understanding on his second.. and I just don't believe that. to me it's the effort put forth through the murky black odds and the ability to sustain it or increase it when the light at the end of the tunnel actually unexpectedly shines brighter for you.. not to collapse when just when it feels so damn close.. (again im speaking of this game, not the series) we've had a healthy yao and rafer before.. true without scola.. but i just don't buy it.. not just yet.. not after game 2 2008.. game 7 against these same Jazz the previous playoffs.. right now i'm with those that feel this team still needs much more help than a healthy yao and rafer..
I am on this wagon until the end. That what the true fan is. Never give up on your team because the Rockets have not given up yet. We were choked city before clutch city.
wow...member or not get the hell off this site with that ****. BS comment from a BS fan about a BS call....
we can agree to disagree about the tonights game. as for the future, if scola plays with yao, and if landry is as physically dominating as he was pre-knee injury, this team will be really good. yes the team needs a shooter and another wing player at least 6'6"(yes mike miller, i'm talking about you, again), but even without those things, the team is going to be beastly next year. when yao went out during the winning streak, the team was starting to play its best ball of the season, and who knows how good they would have been playing at the end of the season if yao had stayed healthy. remember, another summer practicing RA's offense and this team should become just that more comfortable in it. i know this team doesn't have the passing big men sacramento had, but RA will get more comfortable with his personel and he'll figure out how to put it all together. as much as i'm rooting for this team for the remainder of the playoffs, i have that much faith in the direction of the team moving forward(as long as the big two can stay healthy).
that's b/c your worth less than the skin b/w my *** cheeks and have nothing to argue about.... get the **** off this site and go to jazzfanz if you wanna talk about the rockets sucking tonight. you're the typical houston fairweather fan, i'm sick of you and ppl like you. no yao and no alston and we played them tough.
dismal follow up, of a dismal post ,from a dismal brain, eh what? ok and that's as far as I'm going to humor you.. but thank you for volunteering yourself as the perfect example of the kind of fandom i've mentioned as being the absolutely most pitiful.
i love it, another response about someone without following up on my point that you are by far the worst type of fan. i bet during the win streak you were saying we'd go all the way and now hear you are bailing on us when we are obviously on the ropes. i don't need you to humor me, just knowing that you have nothing to say and are a complete dumbfu** is good enough for me
OMG- that's being objective??? If the ref's made the right call there (on a ticky tac foul) then what about all of the times that the Rocket's got hacked, slapped, pushed and clobbered when there were no calls? I'm all for calling a spade a spade but there were plenty of time's I could hear the Rox player's arms/hands get slapped and the ref's wouldn't call the foul. So to call that touch foul in the last 2 min of the game on Scola is ridiculous. And yes, if we had made all of our free throws then we wouldn't have been in this position but there's no denying that even with missing our free throws we were still in a position to win and we should've been tied up. The reasons why we lost: 1) Horrible officiating 2) T-Mac disappearing / running out of gas in the 4th Quarter AGAIN!!! (He just didn't even try to drive to the hole in the 4th... 3) Bricking our free-throws (If I were Adelman, I would make the next practice a free throw clinic and have all the players shooting a ton of FT's until they can hit 75% at least.
