pathetic fandom looks for excuses and fault in the officiating, rather than say anything critical about their team when things get tough.. as for whether i think they played their hearts out.. i truly believe they did play to their limits.. the problem im pointing oout.. is that their limit has clearly been proven to be one that's reached and peaked sooner than others..
Yeah, but you could use the same logic with the flop. Were just not a good free throw shooting team, especially w/o our best player/free throw shooter, Yao.
Scola had a clear path to the basket - they just called this one on BJ not long ago - Scola should have shot and we should have been given the ball back. AND Okur should have been called for a flagrant 1 at least. There is no way Okur had any play on the ball without going thru Scola's entire body.
I thought the refs had to earn their way onto the Playoff referee roster - best of the best, so to speak. Tony Brother isn't qualified to referee in a 1A JV Hifh School game. And the other two refs certainly missed a good game.
I agree. I thought maybe last year's playoff performance was a fluke, but he just sucks when it matters most. That and he's too short(I've seen him up close in person, and dude is a midget by NBA standards). He can't get his shot off against taller defenders.
which clearly translates to.. this team as it stands..doesn't have what it takes to at least make a statement even if they can't win the series.. as no one expected them to.. except.. blind fans that go to extreme high's when the team wins.. but extreme low's when they lose -but of course in no way that points to the team directly- without looking at exactly how and why the the wins and the losses came about.. well other than how the ref's officiated either outcome.. so top being blind.. open your eyes.. when a team plays hard in spurts..enough to keep it close.. but panicks when there's an unexpected clearing that leads straight to the oppositions juggular.. while choking on the freebies (ft's).. there's little to be proud of.. in this year's Rockets' postseason play..
sounds like you called this team out for sucking and being a bunch of b..ches. if you really believe that, that makes you a terrible fan. this team worked its butt off, and in the end came up short. i don't care about the refs, i realize the free throw shortcoming this team has, and has had all season, but in no way do they suck, and in no way are they b..ches. this team played as hard as they could all night long, tracy ran out of gas, and the jazz won it when they had to, that's what the better teams are supposed to do. i can't fault the rox for being short handed, and i won't say they didn't play hard. yes, they missed layups and free throws again, but you made them out to be a pathetic bunch of pansies, and that, they are NOT!!!
Kirilenko even grabbed scola's hand and hit himself with it. I'm steamed. That crap doesn't belong in the game of basketball.
Let's face it, Louis Scola is a flopper artist himself, so I wouldn't make big deal out of when others flops on him. Why is he touching AK47 in that situation anyway?
look back on this board, in every thread tonight, i never once said the refs were the reason the team lost. never. stop putting words in my mouth. you want to know why the jazz won, b/c when they needed their bench, players like price come out and hit 2 huge threes, when the rox need theirs luther comes out and pulls and 0'fer. the rockets lack depth due to injuries, and that leads to players who shouldn't be out on the floor for 20-30 minutes a game, playing when they would normally be on the bench. the rox are limited right now, and with all that they still played their butt off, still gave it their all and still nearly beat the jazz who are playing at full strength.
Ok, "This team how it stands" as bad as ft shooting we had, was tied 83-83, and the game should've gone into OT. It didn't. End of story. However we played, was however we played, but something the team didn't control at all, affected the outcome, and thats wrong.
fouls away from the ball should not be called in the final minute. It was not even a foul on top of that.
Name one time he has ever made a flop that won the game for us, in the playoffs, in the final minute.
I'm not saying that call SHOULD be made, it SHOULDN'T. But there's nothing said of that in the rule book. Stuff happens.
that was more of an emotional outburst than anything else.. but i just don't see much to be 'content' about with this team.. and the excuses by some of the fans really bugs the hell out of me.. when i consider.. that they panicked way before they ran out of gas.. the running out of gas just sealed their fate.. but the nature of the outcome was dictated much sooner.. for me at least.. there was just that glaring moment in the game I felt they truly had a chance.. and instead of continuing their hard yet controlled productive style of play.. they just let it slip through their fingers.. and the awful free throw shooting just adds to the indignation.. I never expected them to win the series against a full and deep Utah Jazz team.. but honestly.. to not even be able to win game 2 just to make a bloody statement.. of.. "hey, we may be short handed what without our all-star center and starting point guard, and odds are we're losing the series. But we'll be damned if we let you win two in a row in our home court, we're not that flipping lousy!" more so when an opportunity actually presented itself.. and its disapointing because that just means this team's still not good enough.. and even with a full healthy roster.. will continue to depend on favorable matchups and seeking the most easy route in the postseason to get to the finals next year.. and to me.. that just sux..
