I think we can all agree, that the current era of basketball will probably be NBA's last. When this era of famous players, like Kobe, Yao, Garnett, Howard, Nash, Lebron, Bosh, McGrady, Paul, Duncan etc. is finally at it's end, where most of them retired, NBA will never ever be good again. Unless the league can do something about this, once Kobe and Lebron is gone, the league will lose a majority of it's audience, then you have the Rockets Duo whom China worships, and when they're gone so will a large number of Chinese fans. NBA is just not like before anymore, it's pathetic. I'm interested in seeing the depth of the pit the NBA dug themselves into.
If Yao gets calls like D howard, no one can stop him. His free throws would kill most of the teams. But again it is America and Yao is a Chinese.
No doubt about it, he should start tossing bows and hammering people. Don't reach in Yao...HAMMER in... You drive into MY LANE....you are gonna come out hurtin...for certain. DD
That's the point. Yao doesn't get his money's worth. How many times have we seen shaq bulldoze a flopper, then land on him on purpose? Like I've said, he's going to get fouls, just make it worth it. Trying to take a charge is a girly international big man move. Go for the block and if u don't get it, come down hard. DD, we were talking about shaq and the refs, 1 game in the playoffs against the kings, he had 18 fg atts and 1 ft atts, then the next game he had 17 fg atts and 12 ft atts. How is that consistent?
i'm tired of the terrible calls...the rockets management should do something otherwise we could easily get killed in the playoffs.
I never said it was consistent only that Shaq took advantage more.....and thus it evened out some. Yao just gets screwed..... DD
I have the perfect solution. Have someone in our beloved media ask yao," why do you think you get officiated the way you do?" After yao gives his response, said media writes an article on it, but tweaks yao's answer just a little so the headline reads, " yao says NBA officials hate him for not being a westerner." Aldridge then picks up on the story and makes it a national incident. The commissar will dismiss our efforts, but he will get the messages that we will not tolerate this B.S In the old days, in the mid 90s, you could always count on the home court to get some of the calls.
Conq, I have been saying that for years, that Yao should imply that maybe the refs are racist against Chinese players. I guarantee, Stern would not want to have that coming out and quelching the Chinese market. Yao is just too nice, on and off the court. DD
DD, if he pulled the race card, it would be a huge negative. You ever notice how its officiated when he plays against shaq, howard and other legit centers? I think he just needs to just power through and mow over people. Hell, I thought dream never got enough calls and looking at his ft atts, they right about where yao's are.
Yep, you may be right, maybe he just tells Stern privately that if he doesn't fix it, he is going to go public with it. Use his power behind the scenes... DD
Yao is like davis robinson. He's just a nice guy by nature where as shaq is like a big kid, but he like being the bully. I wish yao liked being the bully, but I think he wants to be liked. I think shaq wants to be respected.I'd rather be respected than liked.
Yao is too nice, yes, that is true, but last night Yao got a T, and our coach said that Yao should controlled himself and not get that T. My point is that we got a nice coach who can not control Tmac (not playing hard) or Rafer (too many jumps), and wants Yao to be further nicer, that would be a very nice team for a NBA title.
I liked the T...I wish Adelman would get one occassionally especially when they have 2 hands in Yao's back all night long. DD
Personally, I like Adelman as a coach, but only thing that prevents him to lead us to go further is that he is too nice or soft, that is a big problem I have for him.
Yao got mugged on every play vs. the Nuggs. If you watch the instant replays in slow motion, there was a even a time when Nene pulled a blackjackout of the back of his waistband and clocked Yao on the shoulder, then quickly put it back away; it happens so fast, but it's in the replays. Chris Anderson wears a pair of flesh-colored brass-knuckles that the league needs to look into. It's obvious in the photos. Anways, we just have to hit all of our 3 pointers - that'll shut the rest of the league up.
