They have been feeding guys like Tate and Landale for far too long. Tate is the janitor, they pay him regardless. I hope he got to play some Playoff bball because that would be his only times to remember when he is old and tell his grandkids.
Funny how it works: when it's a player we don't like, every flaw is their fault. But when it's someone we root for? Suddenly, it's the coach, the teammates, the system, anyone but them. Same weakness. Different story.
This comes off as confession by projection by you my guy. Perhaps that's how you do things, but that's not how I do things. Castle was objectively terrible all season long, he just had a lot of volume due to being on a tanking team that benefitted from him being awful. He couldn't shoot in college, he can't shoot in the NBA. He ended the season with a negative VORP, negative BPM....he wasn't good on either side of the ball. The eye test matches the numbers. By all means, tell me why you think that scrub Castle was good though.
That's fair, I should go back to ignoring him. There's only so much stupidity that I tolerate before speaking up about it.
Was just coming in here to post an article about that. Good stuff from a good kid. Another good reason I'd love for him to succeed. The world needs more Reeds. Same topic and some more pictures can be found here.
[Murray] Top-10 .. picks who were NOT All-Rookie team selections: 3. Reed Sheppard 5. Ron Holland II 6. Tidjane Salaun (no votes) 8. Rob Dillingham 10. Cody Williams (no votes) non-top 10 2025 All-Rookie picks 11. Buzelis 14. Carrington 15. Ware 21. Missi 39. Wells
Every flaw of Reed Sheppard as a prospect was magnified by the way Udoka played him. He was a SG in college, Udoka plays him as a PG. He is a small guard so ideally need some help to get clean looks against bigger NBA defenders. Udoka plays him like he's a spot up shooter. He is a rookie who's not known for man-defense. Udoka yanks him for making typical rookie defensive errors. I don't know if Reed is any good or not, I just know he wasn't going to succeed with the role he got last year. Feels like there was clear difference of opinion between Stone and Udoka in regards to who should've the Rockets picked at #3 there.
Kind of wish Fertitta didn’t burn that bridge with CP3. He’d be a great mentor for Reed at the minimum.
