Castle 31 points and counting...in an actual game not the g-league.

I really really hope we didn't make a mistake.

The kid just needs more time is all. We can clearly see he has NBA talent. PG is a tough position to learn and to become good at in the NBA. Once he really gets his shooting confidence back he will hit his stride and be very helpful for us. We have time for him to go through his ups and downs. I’m sure Fred is helping him a lot. We gotta have a little patience with him.

Castle scoring career high 31 pts while we have folks on here praising reed scoring 3 pts and a +3 in a game where we lost.

Since we didn’t upgrade over read or holiday I expect that we need to really invest in him and play him now.

Will Castle be the best player in 2 years? Maybe, but that doesn't mean Reed can't be a good player too.

Castle plays 148% more minutes per game than Reed right now. Time on the court makes a huge difference in development, especially for a rookie. Even with limited minutes Reed still gets more blocks per game and almost as many steals per game as Castle. I think Reed has already shown he can be a really good defensive player.

Castle also averages 2 TO per game and Reed only 0.6. Castle has an average of 10.8 shots per game and 12.2 PTS per game, which is better than Reed right now. Reed just needs to take more shots.
He only averages 4.2 shots per game and 3.6 PTS..

Reed"s defense is his biggest contribution right now, and his low TO rate. I don't doubt he will get better on offense, and become a great defensive guard

Some people like to be extremely biased, others like to be objective. 3.6 ppg isnt worth celebrating no matter if he is on your team or not.

Reed's season performance so far there's not really much to praise him for. Man hasn't earned his mins and with the mins he does get, he does not look like a 3rd pick.

Some folks expectations are low as fk for this 3rd pick, it's wild. folks thinking he played well with 3 pts and +3 last game are just straight up being blinded by homerism or trolling. If my expectations were low as those delusional folks, i would b praising him just for bouncing the ball without losing it.

He isn't trusted enough to play defense, can't b trusted to run our offense as a playmaker, hell he can't even shoot 3s. He has been straight up trash his rookie season, but luckily he's on a winning team so he can take his time to learn how to become an actual nba player.

i think i got more triggered at some folks trying to convince the rest of us into thinking reed is playing well when he's clearly been sucking.

Let's say Castle is 6'6-6'7 big and heavier before the draft....

For Reed to outgrow his combine measurements, he has to outdo Castle more than 5-10x.....I just do not see it.

In a perfect world those smaller players work out fine as well but the odds are not really that good.

    Hope you are right though.

A lot of those tendencies have to go back to Udoka but you cannot help to question what if there is another coach who isn't that defensive oriented.....would players like Reed or Jalen Green be the same defensive players?

There isn't a single rookie outside of Wells that would play on this team.

A comment that I would call bs on. Just bc reed sucks doesn't mean the other rookies aside from wells would b the same especially those on the rookie ladder. The notion they wouldn't have been able to play on this team especially after injuries is just straight up nonsense.

Reed struggles are his own. He short and cant shoot well yet. He shoots well he gets mins, it's not that complicated

Straight up delusion. You think Sheppard is the best performing rookie in his class?

Yeah…we should have drafted Castle. Reed does not fit our type of players Ime likes….tall, athletic and physical

Castle does have the advantage of playing with Wemby FOX and CP3

I will stand by Rockets for fooled by Reed… players knows teams are heavy on analytics and are now manipulating their college stats

Bari shot 3x more in college than Reed so we had a better idea who he was as a player. Reed tricked Stone

He’s Bronny Jr. in the NBA and the G League

He isn’t comfortable shooting right now. The shot is very rushed. in fact he looks uncomfortable doing just about everything.

That being said between the summer league preseason and G league you can clearly see the talent is there.

Stephon Castle Is physically ready for the NBA whereas Reed is not. Castle May end up being the better player, but we have a lot of those guys on the roster.

I am still OK with us investing and read even if it takes a couple years.
