He is in no man's land he is too good for Gleague but too bad for the NBA. Maybe they are keeping him in case he gets injured in the GLeague but after trade deadline they will send him back to the GLeague.

He reminds of Hartenstein, Hartenstein too was in the same position he put up 20 20 in GLeague but was a scrub in the NBA. It took him 4 yrs and 4 teams to break out.

Reed has to be going back to the Gleague after this road trip, I hope.

Reed's in a tough spot. He obviously will dominate the G league, but this team is better than any of us expected, so he's not getting any playing time. You don't typically get a top 3 pick and have a team that's top 3 in the NBA the following season.

That said, they need to do something with him. Either send him back to the G league, or give him Holiday's minutes. Holiday had 5 points and 1 assist in 15 minutes yesterday. Reed could probably do that. Holiday does play more physical defense, but if Reed is supposed to be our future PG, you really need to start to groom him and let him learn from mistakes. Holiday isn't a long term solution, so not sure why you can't give some time to Reed. They need to do something with him one way or another. He can't just sit on the bench, never playing. If Ime isn't going to let him play and have growing pains, then send him down to the G league. He needs competitive minutes against other players.

As long as Ime isn't the coach, he'll actually play in the game too

I suspect Reed would be getting a little more run if we were playing against crappier teams and building comfortable leads. Even outside of garbage time, I mean. Ime probably isn't comfortable putting him out there into very tight games against top contenders like Cleveland and Boston.

If he plays, it'll embarrass them too much and they'll feel pressure to give him nba minutes just like after his first stint in the g league.

That's why they won't send him down again

Damn Reed has to get grouped alongside G-Leaguers? Can't even make the rookie / sophomore team as an NBA player?

What did I say before the draft? Reed Sheppard should not be the pick. His own coach doesn't have confidence in him. There has been no improvement; he's still a target on the defensive end and he's nor good enough on offense.

However 6-1 is not bad for Rafael Stone drafting the padt 3-4 yrs but I wanted a center in the worst way and Kel'el Ware was right there

Dude you're way overreacting. That's how bad he was supposed to be right now. Expect him to be above replacement level in year 3. Take it easy between now and then. Yeah it's inconvenient, but trust me we'll live and it will still be good for us. Even if he ends up nothing but a fire 6th man of the year guy, that will be such a huge boon to our contention. That's the minimum

I think don't worry things will go well if you re-set your own mental timeline on Reed. Year 1 is kindergarten year. Year 2 he's a respectable bench player. Year 3 he's a starter level player. During this time a lot of muscle will be added, his handle will be way more polished as a focus and his 3PT shot will be refined. Hopefully his midrange game can function as an efficient counter shot. That's all we need from him man. If he ends up lightly better than FVV he'll be a top 12 NBA PG we nabbed with the 3rd pick. We're good.

ALL he needs is to feel like he belongs and can compete. Once his confidence explodes it's going to change the Rockets offense.

I’ve seen enough tonight. Supermax Reed, bench Carl Landry, trade Harden, cut Hakeem.

Outside of the shooting (which i have zero doubt will be elite), what excited me most predraft was his playmaking on defense. Today Amen has 5 stocks (incredible defender and disrupter), Reed has 4, the rest of the rockets have......1
