I think it's time for him to go down to the g-league and rebuild his confidence. It seemingly worked great for Cam. Holiday/Cam are better used for his minutes.
He’s a good player, but he needs more reps. He also needs to adjust his approach I think. The way he stands frequently makes it clear that he’s waiting for a pass so that he can shoot. It’s not a good strategy for good offense. No defender is going to sag off of that stance, So he’s rarely getting natural shots in rhythm, he’s just forcing it. He needs the G league to get his mojo back.
They absolutely need to send him to the G league at this point. But they might not given his draft position. Reed’s confidence is shot. He’s shooting and hoping now.
I think it should be unanimous in the Rockets org from the top to the bottom on Reed. TO THE G-LEAGUE!!!!!!
I think the best thing for the kid is to find his game in the G-league. Today he is far from an acceptable level for the NBA, he seems to be playing another sport. I didn't have high hopes for his first year, but I am concerned that he seems to have no single attribute to be in this league today, neither athletic, physical or technical abilities. We have to give him time.
I didn't think Reed would even get on the court for the Rockets this season unless we had significant injury issues. I thought he would play in the G League all year. And honestly, I wish they would have went that way.. He's looking really really bad in his limited minutes. He's just a rookie so I haven't given up on him, but it's clear they need to send him to the Vipers and let him earn his minutes back just like Cam.
