Finally. Definitely the right call, get him some reps and get his confidence up. Going by his Summer League performance he should be able to demolish the competition down there. If he still can't at least be a serviceable backup after that... I don't know, man.
Finally. Repeatedly throwing him to the wolves and hoping he'd eventually figure it out wasn't working at all. Let the kid learn to play against pros without the pressure of the actual NBA.
About time. If they weren't going to play him, they should have done this a long time ago....he'd probably be back up by now if they did it when they should have.
Either Ime is getting his marching orders or he is finally waking up. Amen starting, FVV off ball, and Reed to RGV.
In fairness, Amen is only starting because Smith got hurt. They needed someone to come in and play PF and Amen is the best option.
No, I did think that way....but the best option was a competent Ime just giving him some playing time at the NBA level. Since Ime is too incompetent for that, it's better he get playing time in the G league than solely riding the bench. My opinion hasn't changed a bit about the issue.
This is good news. Give Reed some quality playing time to get more comfortable with the NBA game. And hopefully build his confidence and shoot more efficiently from 3.
Looking at the schedule, this will probably be a brief assignment, I expect he'll play 3 games then get called back up on the 12th because there is a long break in G league games and maybe go back down on the 16th.
Good deal. He should probably be going back-and-forth from Houston to RGV until he's ready to play regularly.
