    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT....THE...................

I listen to the Tony Kornheiser show every day (they're in Washington, DC) and everybody that comes on thought there was no chance that McNabb would resign. The guy is past his prime, fighting with the coaches, and they give him HOW MUCH?!

This is possibly the dumbest contract I have heard of in the past several years.

Who's saying it's a sure thing?? The Skins would have to put out the full court press to get him if the Eagles don't franchise him(Help that he's a VA guy). But if they do franchise him that doesn't eliminate the skins. I think when push comes to shove Danny Snyder will do what it takes to make his team better (even on the basis of bad or misguided advice from his personnel people.)

The skins didnt have to sign mcnabb now and could have entered the vick sweepstakes in the offseason.

Wilbon must be in shock.

Oh no, that's right, Wilbon is never surprised so a week after saying no way McNabb would re-sign with the Skins, Wilbon must have known this deal was on the way hence the lack of surprise.

Several ESPN commentators have said that's where Vick will end up next year. They're acting like it is a sure thing or were. I just never saw it happening.

Ah screw em. I hate it when they do crap like that.
Like the way they just about made it a done deal before the season that the Cowboys would be representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Like you said the Eagles have options and they're in the drivers seat.
I just think the Skins will be playing the Vick sweepstakes if they do choose to enter, with one hand tied behind their backs. Mental deal.

Over/Under on the Eagles breaking 50?
    I'm going over.

ESPN just said the guarantee is only for $10 million. If so, this contract isn't crazy.

If that's the case, then not a bad deal at all.

I don't know but NFL contracts are really weird and never are what they originally look like. Nothing like MLB and NBA contracts.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Redskins decided to cut him after this season. He is having his worst season and he doesn't appear to be getting along with Shannahan very well.

    That's fairly smart.

If he sucks, they can cut bait.

If they don't, they owe him a king's ransom though.

So it makes perfect sense that they'd cut him and just pay him $3+ mill to leave instead of paying an aging McNabb 10mill 2011 bonus if they pick up his option.

It just makes the Skins look weaker imho because now we see the faux contract was just to make it seem like they have McNabbs back and have the team regain belief in the organization and Shanahan 1 and 2 after they embarrased McNabb.
