It will all come down to the last few weeks of the season. The Cardinals could be our downfall - they ain't going to lay over for us.

Florida isn't going to have any time off from hear on out. I read they have 2 or 3 double headers coming up. I think they're gonna run outta gas. Its simple, Chicago or Houston. I think you know who i have my money on.

I totally agree. I don't know why Redding continues to get chance after chance to pitch. I don't want him pitching in that double header either, but do we really have any other choices? If he can give us 5 solid innings then I'll be happy. After that, put his ass in the pen.

I thought Darren Oliver (and Dan Miceli) was going to be ready soon?

Nice influx of pitching depth at least. With the way the offense has been going, we can have pitchers who only pitch with a crooked numbered lead.

That is exactly what I was telling a co-worker this morning. the relief pitching has been better during this current streak, but they have also had a few games where they gave up several late runs, however, when you are leading 10-1 it's ok to give up 3 in the ninth.

    Also, From Astros.com :

Activated:The Astros' bullpen is expanding. Left-hander Darren Oliver was activated from the disabled list Monday, and Dan Miceli could follow him sometime this week.

FWIW ESPN has Redding listed as the game 2 starter on Thursday, although they are notoriously incorrect often.

Wow, this team is just amazing right now! Currently the hottest team in the league. 18-3 in the last 21 games!

It seems the Astros and Rangers have swaped places.

    I am Internetless....is that a real word?

I will be setting up my new DSL connection later this week when it arrives via mail. $29.99 a month, with the first month free. I sure hope it's worth it.

Well the bright side would be is that he isn't our closer. That would be Lidge whenever it's a close game. And he is pretty much lights out.

While almost equally horrible, I am hoping Duckworth is given the start. Starting a headcase like Redding in the middle of a wild card race is recipe for disaster, best offense in the majors or not.

the only confidence i have in throwing either redding or duckworth out there is that the offense is right now capable of picking up anyone. i wouldn't mind giving oliver another shot, didn't he throw like 5 shutout innings last time he made an emergency start?

1-0 Expos over Cubs on a single from the pitcher
1-0 Astros with a single from Chavez.
