Yes. Unfortunately, in this world, there are a lot of people who would've done worse to a 72 year old charging them and throwing a punch at them.

    whats up,

Do you believe that Zimmer is a classless punk? He's obviously just as much a hot head as Pedro.

BTW, what's up with baseball players being p*****s? FSU and Miami play in a monsoon yesterday, but they can't friggin' play in Boston tonight?

Um, game 5 will still be in Boston.

I wouldn't count on Grady Little skipping over Burkett. He had a chance to go with Suppan and chose Burkett instead. I will be shocked if he goes with Wakefield for Game 4.

... or does it curse them since Burkett will now likely be the starting pitcher for Game 7, if neccessary.

I guess its better to actually get to game 7, rather than running Burkett out there and getting clocked in game 4.

The Yankees have decided to flip-flop Mussina and Wells (why not... Mussina can reproduce his perfect game, and he's struggled recently at The Stadium).

    In all likelihood:
Game 4 - Wakefield vs. Mussina
Game 5 - Lowe vs. Wells
Game 6a (If Boston is facing elimination) - Pedro vs. Pettite
Game 6b (If Boston is up 3-2) - Burkett vs. Pettite

In game 7, all bets are off... except for the fact that Roger Clemens will be pitching for the Yankees. If Boston wins the next two games, and loses game 6, then they'll have Pedro on full rest.

If Boston splits the next two, pitches Pedro on 3 days rest for a must-win game 6, then they have the option of going with Burkett... and if he gets into trouble, throw out Wakefiled again (assuming he shuts down the Yanks again in game 4) on two days rest (Knuckleballers don't need rest, technically).

Yeah game 5 will be in Boston. Also, looks like Mussina will pitch tomorrow and Wells will pitch Tuesday afternoon.

John Burkett was scheduled to start Game 4 for Boston, but manager Grady Little had indicated he might bump Burkett in favor of Game 1 winner Tim Wakefield, who was slated to start Monday's Game 5.

David Wells was the scheduled Game 4 starter for New York, but will instead pitch Game 5 to keep Mike Mussina on his normal rest for Monday.

Anyone see Zimmer's apology? I just caught the end of it, and he was struggling to hold back tears.

    **** Pedro!

    My .2 cents

    1. It appears to me Pedro threw at Garcia. If your going to hit him, fine but dont go for the head. I dont blame garcia for getting pissed.

    2. I love Zim, but if your going to charge after someone you have to suffer the consequences. I thought it was a classy move for Zim to apologize

    3. Pedro should have never pointed to his head and told Posada he was going to hit him in the head, not just once but twice. Very classless move by a very gifted pitcher.

    4. Manny was way out of line on the Clemens fastball that wasnt even close to hitting him. In the end he got what he deserved, a seat on the bench after Clemens struck him out.

Yankees in 7 and hopefully it will be Clemens pitching game 7

I am behind what Pedro did to Zimmer, he was protecting himself and didn't punch him he just pushed him out of the way. Pedro is about a buck 70 and Zim runs about 200 (he is a fat fart) he could have hurt Pedro if he would have gotten a hold of him, if he brought him down, Pedro could have hurt himself.

ESPN Radio reports that Pedro Martinez will be fined $50K for his actions

All other parties involved will get $25K fines.

Brawls, Nelson, Zim, Petey. Emotions running in all directions, and Wake comes through. Once and again, whether the series goes 2-4 or 4-2, Wake was given the chance to perform and he was lights out.

Alright.... the next game is obviously the most important.

My question is... no matter what happens tommrow... would you rather have:

Game 6 - Pedro (on 3 days rest)
Game 7 - Wakefield (He could pitch everyday if he wanted... plus Lowe would be available out of the bullpen)

    ---OR---

    Game 6 - Burkett/Suppan (haven't pitched in ages)
Game 7 - Pedro (fully rested)

I think if the Red Sox lose tommorow, they go with the first scenario.

If they win tommorow, the ball is in their court... and they have the "luxury" of having their ace in the hole for a game 7 if neccessary.

Well, Wake can pitch on short rest.

The way I see it we have to go with option 1.

Throw Pedro on 3 day's rest, and have Wake in game 7.

Even if we win game 5, we can't just give them game 6 by throwing Burkett.

True... but has EVERYBODY lost all confidence in Burkett? I mean, he did pitch OKAY his last start against Oakland, and he had a 3.75 ERA against the Yankees in the two games he started this year.

Plus, I'm always worried about any pitcher who starts on 3 days rest. The numbers are frighteningly against them. Secondly, Pedro didn't look "right" on Saturday, and that was with full rest.

So, if the Sox win tommorow, and they role the dice and pitch Pedro in Game 6, they could very well lose that game... and then be faced with a game 7 with Wakefield on two days rest. (the rest is not key for Wakefield... its the fact that the Yankees will be more adept at timing the knuckleball, having seen it two days before).

    On further review, my opinion:
Win tommorow - save Pedro for game 7.
Lose tommorow - start Pedro on three days rest.
