geesh I kind of wanted a bo-sox cubs WS but after seeing this bs Im rooting for the Yankees. Manny is a complete bum that ball was not close to hitting him. Pedro is a freaking headhunter I wish they would get rid of the DH he wouldnt have the balls to do this BS if he had to step into the box against other pitchers. Than knocking over a 72 year old man is not the brightest thing in the world, luckily he was not seriously injured. But there wasnt much he could have done in that situation.

GO Yankees! I want the curse to end sometime but not with these Red Sox

Eh, I missed the game to go see Kill Bill because I'm r****ded. And I am bad with peer pressure.

Reading the posts, I'm convinced that Pedro was in the right, and the Yankees again were classless.

My only regret is that Zimmer didn't die from complications and that Clemens didn't have a stroke on the mound.

I hope all of the Yankees die.

    GO SOX

Zimm is a fool. Don't want none, don't start none.

Manny was already edgy with everything that had happened. But when Jackass Roger threw that pitch 7 feet high, Manny went ape sh*t. Manny is an idiot. Roger on the other hand is a-hole, who could've been put in his place if Shawn Estes didn't chickened out last year. And now that jerk will retire with that smirk on his face.

The news is reporting that the Fenway groundskeeper has cleat marks on his back and arm, and may have been kicked in the mouth. Damn Yankees.

I respect my elders, but let's face it, Zimmer deserved what he got. He had to know it was a possibility he would get injured trying to fight someone half his age.

Amoral? Zimmer's the one who came at Pedro... not the other way around.

Anybody that thinks it's okay and/or justifiable to let a 72 year old man charge and swing at them under any circumstance and expect to do nothing about it is a freaking pu**y!

Oh and grummett and all the others who think that Pedro is an "amoral *******":

If that is really true, then why did Pedro not throw a punch at Zimmer? Huh? Why didn't Pedro jump on top of Zimmer after he landed on the ground and beat the crap out of him? Huh? After all, he is an amoral *******, in the world according to grummett.

The bottom line is that Pedro could have really hurt that man if he wanted to, but he didn't. He was defending himself against a crazy looney old-timer charging and swinging at him. And anyone else would have done the same thing that Pedro did - they would have defended themselves. If you want to tell me that you wouldn't have defended yourself if you were in Pedro's position because you would have been able to think rationally in an emotional moment that the man charging you is 72 years old, then I am LMAO @ you.

Unbeleivable...I'm glad I stayed home and watched this game from start to finish...The fights, the hits, the drama...

I still think the RedSox can pull it out...

WTF was Zimmer thinking? Pedro was in the right to avoid him, but damn, everyone was making it out like it was Pedro's fault at first...

My comment wasn't directed at Pedro.

I am not defending Zimmer and I thought he should never have put himself in that situation.

    BUT!

Pedro didn’t need to go for Zim’s head! He could have just pushed the old man out of the way!

So you think Pedro's behavior is appropriate without regard to Zimmer's age? So a 10-year old charging Pedro deserves to be thrown to the ground?

He could have backed off; give a little shove on Zimmer's chest and step back. There's no need to grab him by the head and toss him to the ground. Would it really hurt his pride to back off from a 72-year old? NO! What ass in the world would show his machoism by taking down a 72-year old?

Pedro have more than enough time to think rationally. You can tell from the TV clips that he was staring at Zimmer for more than 3 seconds before the Zimmer got to him. But yeah, you said he was emotional and maybe he really wasn't thinking rationally, because after all, I just think Pedro is a dumbass punk who is incapable of having any rational thought at all!

Well, at least you are hinting that Pedro's action was due to irrational thinking and uncontrollable emotions which means that what he did was wrong!

Who are you to judge anyone with that comment? You should have stopped speaking after you said you missed the game.

You do realize that you have the advantage of hindsight right? Who knows what the hell you or anyone else in that situation would've done when they saw Zimmer coming at them trying to throw a punch? It was a heat of the moment thing, and I, for one, commend Pedro for not doing anything worse.

Oh great, let's commend him for not punching the 72 year old speed demon who was running at him.

Right, I also commend someone who would paralyze you but not doing anything worst like killing you.

And yeah, a 72 year old would've hurt Pedro really bad.

You're right, it's a subjective call on whether he did the right thing or not, or on what he should or should not have done. Maybe I should be more clear in my earlier post. What I wanted is to show what an ass he is. A passive person is less likly to cause trouble and hothead is likley to act on impulses. One person's actions are indicative of one's character. His actions show what he is; a classless punk.

    Are you serious? Postponed?

I guess they can play 2 tommorow, but double-headers don't seem like real baseball... they always seem like two practice games rather than real games.

Or, since N.Y. and Boston are so close to one another, screw the off-day on Tuesday, and just play four games (if neccessary) in four nights.

Thats what Sandy Alderson just said. Play game 4 tomorrow and game 5 Tuesday in NY.

This helps out the Redsox quite a bit as now they can avoid pitching Burkett. Wakefield will go tomorrow for Boston against Wells for the Yanks
