I'm still waiting for your answer to what Gibson,Drysdale,or for that matter Clemens would have done if a moron like Zimmer had come at them?

    A. That's what you think he said, or meant.

    B. That's what you think he said, but that's not what he did.

    C. Zimmer was wrong to rush him, attempt a punch, and Martinez did what he had to do.

    rocketman, watch the clip

    you can read his lips...

But yes, a 72 year old man should not be rushing a 31 year old.

We all, for whatever reason, took it to mean that Pedro's in their heads, which he obviously is. Regardless, he didn't throw at anyone's head (after that) and Zimmer's an idiot, plain and simple.

Man, this is confusing. I can't figure out which of these two teams I dislike more.

You can forget him answering you, Dirt because I posed that question to him like 3 hours ago.

Like I said before, ask the Oakland Athletics if they think it is easy to eliminate Boston.

Yankees still have to win 2 more games.

Its easier for the yankees to eliminate the sox
than for the sox to eliminate the yankees now.

you sox still have to win 3 more games.
how they going to do that? with burkett in game 4?
come on.. this is the yankees! just give it up you sox fans.
maybe some other year when yankees aren't in it ok?

    GO YANKEES!! :)

Duh. Thanks for the news flash.

They had to win 3 games compared to Oakland's 1 and the A's have the best pitching in baseball and Boston got it done. Maybe in past years, the Sox would fold after this, but I don't think this one will.
Granted, Burkett has been awful against the Yankees in his career, but he outpitched Mussina earlier this season at Fenway. Plus Wells, for the most part, this season has been hit hard by Boston. So, it is not a given that the Yankees will win tomorrow. Yes, the matchup is more in their favor but so was the Hudson-Burkett matchup in the ALDS.
Nope. The Yankees are in it every year, lol. Someone has to bring the Evil Empire down this year...why not Boston?

You are wrong RM95. Zimmer is no idiot. Pedro was pointing to his head and saying "throw at you" talking to Posada. Watch it again. It's very easy to read his lips.

Are you familiar with Zimmer's playing career? Did you know he was hit in the head with a pitch and was unconcious for 2 weeks?, couldn't talk for 6 months? and is lucky to even be alive?

Zimmer did what he had to do to stop Pedro from hitting a Yankee in the head.

Pedro is the idiot, plain and simple

Whatever. Notice Pedro did not hit anyone in the head the rest of the game. Well, unless you count Zimmer's idiot dome as he was attacking him. Also, can you explain to me how attacking Pedro is going to make him not hit someone in the head, which again, he did not do?

Oh, and two of your "classy" players are going to have Assault and Battery charges filed against them.

I've seen homerism, but this is absurd.

Now cmon RM, he didn't throw at anyone after the altercation now did he? Even after he threatened to. Perhaps he realized that he wouldn't exactly be helping his team if he got kicked out of the game and possibly face a suspension.

Oh, and about the Assault and Battery charges, LOL. Tell me how they will get those charges to stick? Didn't the fight occur in the Yankee Bullpen? What was that person doing in the Yankee bullpen during the game?

Anybody that thinks it's okay and/or justifiable to throw a 72 year old man to the ground under any circumstance not involving a weapon is an amoral ***hole!

It wasn't a fan, it was a Fenway Park grounds crew employee. There were probably a lot of witnesses to what happened. Don't know how credible they'd be, though.

I still fail to see how Zimmer attacking Martinez makes Martinez less likely to throw at someone's head. Please explain that.

You gotta love SNL... already jumping on this fiasco.

Jimmy Fallon (during the Boston teens sketch) - "Let's all scream Nomaaah.... hey... you didn't do it... I'll drop you like Zimmer."

2 cops witnessed it and apparently they are taking the side of the groundskeeper. apparently he was waving a rally towel - or something like that - and that pissed off Nelson. apparently nelson started the fight and even kicked him in the face...
