I must have missed this last week! I sorry I so r****ded and I upset you again. I really want to be friends on facebook. You'll see I'm a rad dude.
BUMP! Just a reminder of the Red Rowdy tryouts this Saturday, October 9th, at 3:30 outside the La Branch entrance. If you have any questions about the Red Rowdies, feel free to ask me here or PM me. Some of you may have heard Bill and Clyde talk about the Red Rowdy tryouts during tonight's game or may have seen some of the Rowdies on Fox news this morning. I think 95.7 also talked with the guy in charge today. I'll be on with some other Rowdies on NBC channel 2 news Saturday morning to promote the tryouts later that day.

You are contractually obligated to attend the games. You are allowed to miss up to three, or were when I was a Rowdy.
Should be true for this year Both should still be true for this year, as those rules applied the last 2 seasons. I know a lot of returning rowdies are planning on trying out in groups this Saturday. Be careful in groups though. You want your group to complement your rowdiness, not overshadow you. You don't want your groups to be too large for that reason. They can be very effective though. I've seen some great group skits. But I've also seen many times where 1 or 2 people make it from a group but another person or 2 in the group doesn't.
dangit kam. Come on now. no video? Cheke64 is offering 5 stacks for my audition video. Can't imagine what you could get for a video of me changing (but I guess adding on clothes doesnt really count) I have a really bad peripheral view, and I hate making eye contact with strangers. I knew someone was in the car behind me but I thought no chance could it be Kam, and I didn't want to look. I was on a different street. No way would Kam sit in his car watching me change again. lol. sure enough it was you when I walked by. Oh and I made the flex cam tonight!! First time ever!! I've tried so hard the past 2 years. Hey t-slack....
Do the auditions have to be family friendly? (ie no violence/profanity?) Who are the judges this year?
1. yes family friendly. There has been a skit where a girl tackled another girl who was wearing a Lakers jersey and put a Rockets one on her. Thats as violent as I've seen, which really wasn't violent. Profanity would be a big no no. 2. Judges- I'm not sure yet. My guess is some Houston news and radio personalities, but you never know.
I wanted to make the tryouts last year but had to leave town. I will definitely be there tomorrow. Any chance someone could give me a general idea of the audition format so I can know what to expect. I hope to see everyone at each of the home games this year.
Basically, you have 30 seconds to impress the judges. You can do whatever you want in that amount of time. You go there and sign in they'll give you a number, and then you go in that order for the auditions. You can print the registration form ahead of time from online. It used to be indoors on the Rockets floor, but this year it will be outside the la Branch entrance. Some people do skits, chants, bring noise makers, scream their faces off, bring signs, and run around like crazy people. It's a really good time.
last minute tips for those trying out tomorrow Dress crazy! Wear Red! Act crazy! Be loud! Bring energy! Be creative! Also have at least a little idea of what you're going to do out there, and don't stop your audition until that 30 seconds is up. Best tip- socialize with the people who are also trying out! my first year I had some veterans give me some great tips for my tryouts and showed me the ropes of being a rowdy, and those people may be the ones you spend all season with if you make it! I cannot say enough what an awesome experience it is to be a red rowdy. We're a family. They become some of my best friends. I met a rowdy last season, and I'm now going to be her bridesmaid this spring. People become friends, roommates, and I think we even had 2 people meet and get married a few seasons back?? I'll have to double check on that one. It is more than a free season ticket opportunity, this is an organization. I'm really excited to meet a bunch of new friends for this season tomorrow. Tune in in the 8 o clock hour for some of the rowdies including myself on channel 2 news to promote the tryout. Some tryout information will also be given during that time! Good luck to everyone trying out!
Thanks a lot rocketgirl. I am looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. If all else fails, hopefully I can at least meet a few people who agree with my idea of watching a game. Double Rods
