No they can't. They don't have to since they can dribble off the side of the ball now. Your "sick crossover" moves are done by bouncing the from the side. That was "carrying the ball" back when Calvin was in the NBA.
I can pretty much guarantee you that most starting pg's if not even backup pg's can dribble as well as Calvin in that video. You are foolish if you think otherwise.
What the heck does that coach know. He only won nine titles. signed, (please note, this is a joke, i REALLY dislike Phil)
Yeah, I still remember Calvin's dribbling. He was the quickest dribbler I've ever seen. The ball just bounced up and down in a blur. I always wondered why he had to bounce the ball so fast. Calvin with a basketball reminds me of a hummingbird.
You're right. Even as far back as 9th grade we had to do most of those things Calvin did in the video before practice (minus the baton, of course). That's pretty basic stuff or at least it was at my school. And I would love to have seen Calvin in today's NBA if only to let the modern fan/player know just how much toughness the game has lost. I'm talking about playing through injuries and scrapping when things get dirty.
The 0:22 of the following video - 2 Houston legends known more for other things than twirling batons going at it : <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ObzFaSnpzJA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ObzFaSnpzJA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Wow, I actually remember this commercial. I wonder what those little kids are up to now. And who that kid that gets helped with the dunk by Hakeem and Bobby Jo Reid is, or what he's up to now.
