Where do you live? I was just about to get pissed off because it's going to be raining tomorrown and the day after, too. At least the temps are down during the hottest part of the summer, so I'm not going to complain. I was prepared for 100-105 degree temps and 105-110 heat index with the way this summer's been going. Ugh.
Nacogdoches. Aren't you up in Dallas? You're mad about getting the rain? LOL. I LOVE rain. Rain storms <3. Although, I'll admit driving in a big city in them sucks.
Yeah, I live in the North Dallas area. I would love the rain in the country or in areas with less traffic probably, but I don't think I enjoy it in the city or suburbia. The other thing I hate about storms is that I have a house and there are lots of lightning strikes around here. When I was having my house built, a house in the neighborhood was hit by lightning, I heard about at least 3-5 other houses getting hit, the mayor's house was hit by lightning a few days ago, and a model home in a subdivision near mine went up in flames about a year ago because of lightning. Because of this, rain scares the hell out of me now! I already lost some electrical equipment plugged into surge suppressors and that's annoying, especially if they're expensive. Crap, maybe I need to just move.
Crap! Just got launched out of bed by a really bad set of storms going through the area. Flash flood advisories, wind, rain and lightning everywhere. Ok, I think I've had enough rain for a while... *EDIT* : Hail, 60-70 mph gusts, and 1-2 inches of rain just blew through here. That was ugly.
Yep, this front is heading down to the north side of Austin too. We're about to get the front of this storm up here. They are expecting 1" for Austin. Looked like a nice sized storm that woke you up DoD. Looks to have weakened, but I'm hoping for some heavy rain......always seems so much nicer out when it rains.
yep, damn this is a fast moving front. In about 1 min went from cloudy but bright outside, rain.....then BLACK.... pouring rain.
It's been raining here non-stop in Round Rock for at least the last 45 minutes. Greatness....We really need this.
Huh, I thought the worst of the storm was in the southern half of DFW. I was woken up by crazy lightening and thunder and heavy rain, but no hail and certainly no wind that was that strong...
Speaking of Austin, my family is looking at a bunch of properties in Lake Way in August. They are looking to sell their Sugar Land house IIRC, and thinking about retiring to Austin.
wow, i haven't been this excited to see a flurry of colors on the radar! i hope they don't fizzle out on way to Houston! crap, i need and go close my car windows.
Enjoy the front, Texans, tis a nice a one. It's a refreshing 53 up here this morning....feels like fall, makes me want to paw the ground and mount something.
