BS. Look at Chuck Wagon. We used to cringe every FT and every broken play that necessitated Chuckie to try and score. NOW, we run plays for him. If the D is sagging, he can make them pay. He is a wizard around the rim. Chuck made his case in the NBA durning the JVG-Era's injury-laden team and look at him now. Thabeet CAN and will be great defensively and damned good offensively. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong....but I'd rather be optimistic, heck look at the chuckster!

This will work boths ways...i.e. CD will be trying to reconstruct Hasheem yes, but he willl also, at the same time, find out whether or not Hasheem has what it takes to be an NBA center. He read Dorsey correctly. The org. needs to know what it has.

Call me crazy, but I think that Thabeet is going to work out just fine. He'll never be a superstar, but a solid role player.

Was there something I missed about CD's comments re: Dorsey?

That's why we trade him. If CD couldn't improve him, there was no future with him.

Fine, however, Hasheem is not yet at the level of D Chuck had before trying to improve offense.

So, the work with him should be the most possible goal, turn him into a Mutombo-like player. He already has the body to become that.

If this first goal is a success, then invest valuable time and training in improving offense. But right now, a Mutombo is more needed, we have already a Brad Miller, if you want a guy who's good in O and bad in D.

I don't think he'll ever be a solid offensive player. But he could turn into a decent defensive player. Heck, if Mark eaton can carve out a career in the NBA than this guy can too.

He's been deemed a bust, but I think he is one of those players who just take a long time to develop.

They need to get Mutombo to teach him how to block shots and throw elbows.

They also need to find Collins and get him to teach Thabeet how to walk and chew gum at the same time.

He already knows how to block shot. That's basically the only thing he's good at right now. He needs to work on his defensive footwork, positioning, and rotations. Chuck can help him with that. He also needs to improve his rebounding.

And that wrist flick hook shot, ability to use either hand, not to foul, basically how to play basketball.

Tony Barone said that Memphis needed to play him for him to develop, Houston is not going to be any different, I don't see him getting any playing time here with Adelman saying "I don't know what to do with him".

I'd be happy if he could become the Black Shawn Bradley. Seriously, I don't think he's even on Shawn's level yet besides a few posters.

Thabeet has to go through the CD test, if he can't show CD that all he needs is more practice to improve, he will be dealt once again.
