Awesome reference, RM Tex! I need to watch that movie again - real soon. f4p, You are talking to the King of receding hairlines. I am 32 now and when I was your age (23), I could sense some loss of hair. However, it wasn't that bad and it probably wasn't until I was 29 that it really took effect. I tried Rogaine but that stuff itched too much for me. Never tried Propecia as I heard it had some bad side effects (which I can't remember specifically what those were). I did go through a period of shaving my head about every 2 weeks, but you have to have a lot of self-discipline to do it. Especially if you want the "shaved head" look every day (we are talking about going through LOTS of razors here!). Now, I just get it cut really really short and let it grow out for about a month before getting another haircut (I am overdue for a haircut). It sucks in the beginning to realize that you are going to eventually become a Kojack but you get used to it in time. At your age, you might be successful at stopping it or even getting some of that hair back. But whatever you decide to do, for God's sake, man, do NOT get a toupee (sp?) or do the "comb-over".
oh hell no. that will never happen. and thanks to everyone who gave good advice and to everyone who quoted movies and Seinfeld, i knew i could count on you.
Maybe transplant's are the way to go. They don't look too bad. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/share-info/hairloss-photos.asp?ToS=trplt&Gender=male
Rogaine extra-stength can help you keep what you have a lot longer, in my opinion. It doesn't "grow hair" worth mentioning, but it does a fair job of helping you keep what you have, or at least slowing the process down. You have to use it twice a day for it to really be effective. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!
Just keep it short...I heard that Propecia makes hair thicker, not grow any...BUt I've also heard it's like $30/month forever...maybe a small price to pay for some self conscience issues...
I know a doctor in Charlotte that says Avacor is the real deal. I started losing my hair when I was 18, and even after 15 years of hair loss, he swears it would grow it back. I just decided against it, since I've dealt with my baldness issues a long time ago.
Scrub your hairline briskly with a brillo pad and then gently massage in the juice from a dozen jalopenos. Rinse. Repeat.
I'll be 23 on saturday, and my hair is freakin GONE. Its sad and I plan to shave it off on my b-day Just freakin shave it off.
Cant believe no one has thought of this....some people actually shave it to from a shape that rounds with the front of your head. EX...Calvin Murphy and the "M"
