during the chat, clutch said, we had a deal on wednesday, but yesterday morning it fell off. It would have Looked Like This. Houston Receives: Rush Outlaw or Webster (We wanted outlaw, they wanted to trade Webster) Portland Receives: Battier 25th Pick, which would have been Batum. I like Webster, hes only 21, and a better shooter than battier.
trading chuck won't bring us a good value. landry is one a lot teams might show interests. we might use landry to do a s&t with other fillers to get a good vet 2/3.
That is definitely interesting. I can totally see the Webster Rush deal as too little for Battier + 25, and the Outlaw Rush deal as a little too much. The lack of major urgency on either side prevented either deal from happening. If one side had leverage over the other, then there would have been a deal.
Rush and Outlaw are different players which makes sense, but I prefer Webster over Outlaw. Battier plus Webster would have better IMO.
The deal fell through because Portland had a deal with Indiana that if either Augustine or Bayless was available at #11, they would swap. Bayless was there, so Rush went to the Pacers. That was reported on ESPN. (the IND POR deal, not our potential deal with POR falling through. I'm just speculating about that)
Don't count on Greene being the savior. Theres Free Agency and trades that could still shake things up.
I noticed that too. I think he kinda let it slip but recovered in time recover a little bit. When he said it. You can kinda tell he was like " oh ****" to himself in his mind.
