The fact that he doesnt want to come here, I want him mre than ever. All just to spite him. If it makes it clear once he's traded here, that he's not staying, I want us to give him hell. I'm talking turn him into Lebron James type hate.

Given that Brooklyn has jack and squat for assets, Dwight's only path there is as an UFA next summer. Best wishes to him, because Deron's not waiting around.

I'll take the rental and the 5% chance he changes his mind. Beats the 0% chance of title contention by standing pat or trading for the likes of Pau Gasol.

it would be considerably more if he chose to pay NY/NYC taxes instead of going with houston

Anyone else feel D12 talk is just a bluff to get at some good draft picks?

I'm calling BULL on that one. The only thing that is drawing him to Brooklyn is a Rose Adidas shoe deal. I'm sorry I'm calling bull on all that. Adidas isn't going to risk letting him run to Nike when his current shoe deal is done. Especially if he comes here and goes deep into the playoffs and the Chinese market goes crazy over him.

    It's a bunch of bull.

And we ain't even talking taxes and cost of living.

Oh he'll sign it, and then do whatever it takes to force a trade. Dwight won't feel he owes the Rockets anything, especially with our reputation of treating players like assets.

If we trade for Dwight and DWill signs anywhere else but the Rockets, then Morey better start shopping him for Plan B asap. But I doubt he'll get anything close to what he's paying now for the rental.

Let me get this straight. Houston is good enough for his "sensei" Hakeem Olajuwon but not for Dwight "Let's change the NBA logo to Jesus" Howard. What a jerk. I don't even want him on our squad. The guys a narcissist of the highest order and totally opposite of Hakeem. If we offered to build him a statue, he'd complain that it's not bigger. This whole generation of stars makes me wanna yak. So disappointing.

Obviously Brooklyn is his 1st choice, but that doesn't mean he resist playing for the Rockets. If Morey can build a championship squad, everything could change.

I haven't even looked at the numbers or how it could work but is there anyway a 3 team trade could go down with NJ? I'd assume the focus would be with our picks/Scola, BLopez and Dwight. I wouldn't be surprised if Morey plays facilitator for a couple of deals.

What a joke. You mean that if the Rockets just lost and didn't ever make trades that Dwight would feel some sense of devotion to this team?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

Like Lebron in Cleveland? Bosh in Toronto? Every other player who has ever left a team? LOL

Take this with a few grains of salt........

I've been following truebluenation.com for a while. There's a poster on there, YaBoyR, who seems to be a Dwight insider. He's posted some pretty accurate stuff in the past. He claims to be a friend and talks to Dwight on a regular basis.

Word from him is Dwight told him that Dwight and Hennigan spoke by phone yesterday and they agreed to meet next week. Dwight is allegedly saying that Hennigan and Devoss are flying to Cali to talk to him.

Next week is the start of free agency. I can't see Orlando letting this thing drag on and letting DWill sign elsewhere and losing trade leverage. Unless...we are offering the same deal components and are willing to take back the same salaries (most likely JRich and Duhon), with Dwight either before July 1 or after July 1.

I will gladly sacrifice my beloved Rockets to cost Dwight $57 million dollars.

I'd like to see our efforts moved elsewhere. Don't agree with the Dwight rental as it is.

So let me get this straight, if Brooklyn is his ONLY destination, then why did he opt in last year? He could have signed with Brooklyn THIS year, playing with his buddy Deron, and saved a year's worth of trouble by simply opting out. I'm calling BS on this. By opting in he has showed his hand. His #1 priority is signing for the MAX available. The Nets are his preference. A winning situation is his preference. But at the end of the day, not at the cost of his Max max contract.

Call his bluff, trade for him, and sit on his ass until he signs.
