They made the finals, 2nd best team in the NBA, Wade and Lebron didn't go very far last year, so I would say it has been a success for them. Hopefully losing will knock some sense in some of them, and get them to focus, and work just that must harder, esp Lebron. Also, in life you set lofty goals and aims, and never be afraid of disappointment, as if you don't, you will never go far in life.
Winning a championship is always hard. Wade is fragile, LeBron never had any significant injury but for his playing style, he may easily get one. Bosh isn't iron man either. Or Howard may go to be good team and it becomes a nightmare match for heat. A lot can happen in a year.
Some of you guys act like the Heat were swept in the first round. They won the East and were 3 Game 2 minutes away from a completely different story. Besides, I'm sure Bosh and James both have trade clauses built into their contracts. Anyone not wanting Lebron though are nuts. I'd much rather be a perennial contender on a hated team than a team that has been out of the first round once in the last what, 13 years or so?
You're missing the entire concept. People are just telling you that nothing is promised. Nobody is going to hand out rings just because you're Lebron and Wade. Maybe this humbles them. Cross out 8 championships..aim for seven now.
LeBron douchebags are still not humbled by their loss today and are still guaranteeing championships for the next couple of years. Karma is a b**** and it will continue to be unless these idiots change.
1. Coach the team himself or hire Phil. LeBron, against his & probably riles' better judgement, has given Spoelstra his fair chance & he blew it. Time for a proven HOF coach. 2. Pick up DH type center and/or... 3. a PG with the proven ability to set up your franchise player with the ball in his spots. 4. Add a couple of dependable role players to come off the bench. No more carrying scrubs on your back. LeBron cannot defend every player on the court at the same time, nor can he score or assist every point himself.
yeah except the MLE will likely be nixed if the new CBA has a hard cap and it would also force them to nullify one of the big 3's contracts (probably bosh). every team would have the option to remove one contract but they'd have too to get under the cap.
Rebuilding the heat is pretty simple, Joel Anthony and Mario Chalmers have proved they're good enough to start at pg and C. The only thing the heat need is depth, and a sixth guy who can help them out on the offensive end. Perfect target? Aaron Brooks. Pay him the MLE (if its still available), then make him the starter so you'll have deadly scorers on the floor. Next I would try to recruit Grant Hill to join the Heat and provide depth to Lebron. Finally you need some kind of scrappy wing defender, Matt Barnes would probably be ideal.
The Heat have one of the lowest salaries in the league among the contenders. They're called the CHeat but they're actually the only contending team which played under the cap, Mavs, Lakers, Celts and Orlando all exceeded the cap to field the team they did. If the NBA institutes a hard CAP the heat won't be affected as they can keep the big 3, likely they give up Miller+filler. Compare that with the Mavs, Lakers and Boston and they'll lose the least talent.
They are really two minor pieces away. Askling to trade one of the big 3 is silly. They dont need to make any trades whatsoever. They need a mediocre PG and C which they can easlly acquire from FA. This way there is less interferences in their chemistry and they can start to gain momentum earlier in the season. Stay away from Bibby, Howard, Dampier and Jamal, they are way too old and useless. They wont need Jones back because Miller will be healthy and ready plus they still have House. Bring back Chalmers and have him and Joel Anthony come off the bench. Good targets would be Charlie Bell (Miami did offer him a contract previously which Bucks matched) for PG and Nazr for the C. Both these guys would be upgrades over what they had and they can be picked up cheap. Telfair and Gray could be wild cards. Bell/Chalmers Wade/House James/Miller Bosh/Haslem Nazr/Anthony
Get a GM like Morey. Someone who can find value without needing capspace or high picks. Players like Landry, Lowry, Brooks, Budinger, etc. maybe considered a bunch of mediocrity on a mediocre Rockets team, but surround them with the Heat cast and they'd instantly be "championship caliber" players. The Heat has the core pieces, but how well they surround them is the question.
yall act like great scrubs are out there. Chalmers and Hasleem could start for many teams in the NBA.
Honestly though, wouldn't a LeBron for Dwight, Jameer Nelson and Earl Clark trade make sense for both sides. I don't see anyone beating a team with Wade, Dwight, Bosh and a PG.
- Make them learn how to play team defense. Maybe they'll get there in a couple of years. - Learn how to stop acting like douches when you're up 15 in the 4th. If they had kept their intensity up that quarter, this might have been a completely different outcome. - Sell the Heat to Cuban
