More like the problem we won't fix. We have good rebounders and we usually do a solid job rebounding as a team...problem is we're not letting our bigger guys play in situations where they'd obviously would get more boards. There is some inconsistent rebounding...not sure if it's a motivation issue or bad lineup chemistry, but probably both.

Our PG is literally our best rebounder, we will continue to suck until rebounding is addressed, no matter how you defend or score unless you rebound well, you will lose.

The Rockets have lacked a true back up center for Yao since Mutombo went down, and the Rockets should have pursued a center prior to re-signing Mutombo. Right now, Brad Miller is not cutting it, Jordan Hill is not big enough and Hayes is too short to provide interior defense and solid rebounding. I was thinking the Rockets should do what they did with Scola and Andersen and pursue a player outside the US.

For quite sometime I have been wondering whatever happened to Sasha Kaun. Currently he plays in Russia and his rights are held by the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers pursued Kyle Lowry in the off-season. I don't think it's out of the question for the Rockets to pursue a trade involving Kyle Lowry while trying to squeeze in the rights for Kaun. Could help a little with the interior defense and rebounding issues.

One of the major issues the rockets are having, is not boxing out players to help with Team rebounds. Something we been lacking since a healthy Yao and a non-scoring Chuck Hayes.

The rules do not allow the Rockets to trade Lowry to the Cavs for a full year.

Not for the Rockets. Stats say they suck and they do.

I was going to suggest that one as well. We aren't great at rebounding, but we aren't terrible either. There are times when guys go above us to get rebounds and that makes us look worse than we are.

If we could score the ball better, none of these discussions would be even had.

The Rox championship team with Dream anchoring the middle was a mediocre rebounding team IIRC....didn't matter they could score late.

The 93-94 team was 5th in defensive rebounding, while we're 22nd.

Its a particularly bad combination when you don't defensive rebound and you also don't have a shot-blocker

Yeah, that is bad, but IIRC they were last in offensive rebounding.....probably because they made so many shots.....

I'd contribute more to their best rebounder (Hakeem) shooting a lot of jumpers and fadeaways, and also their somewhat stationary, spread-out offense. They were last in offensive rebounding in terms of totals and percentage.

Man, I wish Morey could have gotten Tyson Chandler. He's averaging 8.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 26 minutes per game.

Yes, but they were efficient scorers of the ball...clearly our defensive rebounding needs work, not sure why Rick plays Luis and Miller together, that is not a potent combination.

I wish he would start Scola and Hill and live with the results.

For clarity sake, are you suggesting we develop players in favor of wining now?

I think because we are not wining we need to try something.

You can still ply miller but not in combination with Scola. Use Scola, Hill, and Hayes, Miller is more balance and will probably give you a better chance to win.

According to Yahoo, Hill averages 16 minutes, 3.7 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, 5.3 points, 2.3 PF. Per 36 minutes, that comes to 8.325 boards, 2.475 blocks, 1.925 points, and 5.175 fouls.
