After a one-year run as a rabidly optimistic fan, DD has not-so-quietly slipped back into his previous curmudgeon persona. Personally, I'm glad he did, because I need the comedic relief this year.
I'm not sure about Qi. But replacing Ennis with Winslow seems like an obvious thing to do. What would the Heat be interested in though? Seems easier said than done with what the Rockets have to work with.
Nah, last year was our best shot for the foreseeable future. We could have overpaid for last years team and it still wouldn't have been the same.
I don’t understand why people believe justice Winslow is on the trading block; what reason does Miami have to move him...... unless they’re getting a superstar in return in which the rockets currently don’t have to offer.
They really don't have a reason to move him..except they need to get out of the tax this season and they need to be out of the tax next season, ideally with some cap room to add pieces. That means they've got to try to move out Whiteside, Waiters (impossible unless he plays), and one or both Johnsons, and/or Dragic. And they don't have extra picks lying around. And Winslow is set for a big pay increase next season. The market for their bad contracts is very, very small. Most likely with Winslow or Richardson will have to go out for them to get off Whiteside deal. That's why a Gordon/Knight/Melo/expiring for Whiteside/Winslow/Ellington/Macgruder/whatever deal could make sense for both sides at this time........or at the deadline with the deal reconfigured....If other things don't materialize first.
You do when you know you can’t recapture lightning in a bottle and last year’s team overachieved. “A hamstring away” is a nice quip but let’s not forget the GSW beat us with Steph coming back from an ACL injury for the playoffs. Would we have even taken the Warriors to 7 games without Steph being gimpy? And how’s that hamstring doing this season?
Cp3 wanting the max, Ariza wanting to get paid, Luc wanting slightly more money... That doesn’t sound like the team that sacrificed and played to their best potential like last year.
Steph Curry had a nice loooooooooooong convalescence and was fresh for the playoffs (did he show up for the second round or so?) Plus we were down Moute (mental? physical?) and Ryan "I Quit" Anderson.
Yea, fresh after an ACL injury.... I’m saying you can’t just bring back last year’s roster and expect similar results. Sometimes your chance passes you by. I feel confident in saying last year’s team overachieved.
