Was this thread created just because a bs list came out about Bosh's 5 fav destinations. Numerous reports say that his agent calls the list incomplete. NBA players love Houston. Main problem for us is lack of salary cap room. Thats it, end of story!

The Rockets were not in the wrong on that one. Not at all.

Yeah, I love that guy, but he wasn't quite the same that year. :(

Ya'll will disagree with me on this one I bet, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm right.

    The girls.

Say what you want. We are a relatively obese town. And looking at "Bosh's list", you try to find towns with prettier women than Miami, LA, New York.

It's not that they raise em hot. The hot ones just gravitate there like they do to a tall dude on the dance floor.

And if your response is "NBA stars can get any woman they want and fly anywhere in the offseason, why in the hell would they give up cash and championship prospects just to live in a city where such women are available at any TIME in the regular season too?", well then, you must be one of those rare guys that never made a stupid decision thanks to Mr. Winky.

One thing our team doesn't have a shortage of is role players.

Everybody plays their role well, and early in the season when we were playing at our best, we had a different player putting up big numbers each night.

The fact that we had an above .500 season with a team full of role players and no star speaks volumes for the heart and character of this rockets team. If Yao was fit and playing at his best this season, we could have been, imo a top 4-5 team in the west.

lets just say Lebron would have gone further with the supporting cast at Houston, than he did at the Cavs with the support cast he has there.

Just my opinion, don't expect people to agree.

Great point. Lets not pretend any of these guys who are married are faithful to their wives. Some of them may well be. But the odds aren't so great on that.

So yeah, the girls definitely matter.

considering how many players live in Tom DeLay Land, I don't think they care very much about local politics, one way or the other....either that, or they're all Tea Party members.

if i were thinking about Houston...health of Yao and the franchise's unwaivering commitment to him would make me think 2x.

Houston has no shortage of hot women, and the fattest cities thing is calculated in one of the dumbest ways. Wasn't it just last year that Houston was named the easiest city to get laid in? I think there was a thread here about that.

There's a big difference between not having money to spend and not choosing to spend your money unwisely. The Rockets easily could have paid Olajuwon but chose not to. Do you think it should have been the Rockets paying Olajuwon $17M to play a total of 61 games over the next 3 seasons?

But they did choose to spend their money unwisely. Yes I would have gladly given that money to Hakeem. Instead it went to Moochie Norris and Maurice Taylor. Was that wiser?

who really knows what any individual player thinks? the playoffs are a good showcase for talent but that probably affects fans more than pros. players who get prepped for upcoming games by detailed scouting reports should have a decent idea of of our talent level.

putting 'perceived' before the comment should have protected yah against all but the most tick tack criticism. some days you cant win ...

I'm as big of an Olajuwon fan as there is but he was done at that point. The Rockets got a 1st and 2nd round pick in exchange for Olajuwon. That's a deal that you do again. He only played 61 games the next season and then didn't play any games the two final years of his contract. His contract turned into dead money on Toronto's cap.

If you believe that paying $6.5M for your starting PF and $3.6M for your backup PG is way out of line, then I'll have to disagree. I was never a fan of Taylor or Norris but you do have to put players on the floor.

So we have narrowed it down to:

    1. Not enough capspace or money to sign a free agent to a max contract.

    2. Not being the glamorous cities that Boston, Philly, NY, LA, Chicago, and Miami are.

    3. Houstonian girls being obese and unattractive compared to that of other places. Or just not enough sluts to go around.

    4. The way some players may or may not PERCEIVE the rockets to be an untrustworthy organization due to past treatment of NBA stars.

    5. No good scenery or places to go, according to thaidizzle.

Philly and boston are not glamorous cities. They pretty much sucks. I would say LA, Chicago, NY, SF are nicer cities.

People tend to turn on you when you open up a can of quit on them (and half ass it during the initial rehab).

    bull

he showed jsut how in the wrong the Rockets were for not playing him when he went to NY. and instead of holding onto that contract and possibly using it for other things, they sent him somewhere he could play and show if he *did* actually have anything left.

Guess who was right to hold him back? I think the numbers speak for themselves. If Mcgrady had playing like even a portion of the Mcgrady of old, the Rockets would have looked terrible.

Good thing he showed absolutely zero, and the sooner people like you and the other mcgrady groupies realize that, the better off you will be. I will say one thing, I have very little patience for mcgrady talk in here...so just do yourself a favor and drop that right here and right now. There is nothing new to discuss but your delusions.
