I wonder if this performance shuts up that DieHard guy, or will he use the whole it's one game excuse? Even though he was using one game vs the Saints as an excuse to hype him up
optimistic thinking is Texans finish 10-6. realistic is 8-8, 9-7, 6-10 if clowney doesn't improve defense, no other changes are made.
Steelers Jagsx2 Titansx2 Eagles(So overrated) Foles is sketchy when under pressure. One more win against-Baltimore, Cleveland, Indy, and Cincy. That is 10 wins. I think that is doable if you win in Pittsburgh to get things going.
Because we still have a lot of football to play, 10 more games. 7-3 Steelers-W Browns-W Titans-W×2 (Both games) Jaguars W×2 (Both games) Bengals-W Colts-L Ravens-L Eagles-L Optimistic at its finest
Sad thing is, the Ravens don't play well at home. And the Eagles line is in shambles. I worry more for Cincy and Cleveland. Both proving to be good teams.
No doubt tmacfor35, crazy thing big timer, a lot of people are saying this is the hard part of our schedule. But everyone of these final 10 games are winnable. But knowing our luck we will go 5-5.
9-7 is doable if Clowney (and most of our main guys) stays healthy the remainder of the season. Can't wait to see him and Watt together over a sustained amount of time. We need to stop blitzing and only rush 4, namely Watt-Clowney, because our secondary gets beaten over-the-top way too easily. Those deep bombs Indy put on us while blitzing was embarrassing. I'd rather be beaten with 7 guys dropping back. I think we can win @Indy for the first time too... probably the only way we see the playoffs unless we manage to reach 10 wins.
You want a reason for optimism? Here it is: - This defense is going to be elite once Clowney is back. They have played pretty well even with Watt being our only pass rusher, Cushing hasn't been himself since he's recovering, Swearinger has looked slow because of injuries, but despite that they have been pretty good. - Outside of XSF and Nix, the rookie class has shown talent. Andre Hal has been pretty good in coverage and ST, Blue has been alright as a backup RB and good ST, Prosche has flashed pass catching, CJ has played well in run blocking and has shown that he has hand. - Outside of the slow starts, coaching has been pretty damn good at making adjustments in game. O'Brien when he isn't scared of Fitz throwing interceptions, has shown to have some very good offensive playcalling (Especially when they are forced to let Fitz air it around aka in comebacks). Defensive adjustments have been there all season, but they need to get off to better starts. - Foster is showing he is elite once again - Improvements from young players in Newton, Bouye, Swearinger, Hopkins, etc. - We have Watt locked up for a long while, and he is looking like a GOAT defensive player in the making. - If they cut Jonathan Joseph who has been regressed tremendously, they will have 20m cap space. And going forward they are in a very favorable cap situation.
In theory, the Texans should sweep the Titans/Jags but in reality the Texans never do. I say 2-2 at best against those two. The Titans/Jags fans are predicting their W-L totals for the rest of the year and are looking at the Texans game as a winnable games for them.
Agreed... almost everyone who posted just assumes we'll sweep divisional opponents. Although I think 3-1 is more likely than 2-2. Man losing both these passed 2 weeks sucks. We need to win @Indy and win 2 of 3 against PIT-CIN-PHI.
Well, we've done it twice. But yeah, I don't think we'll sweep those 4 either. But I'm saying we go 3-1.
I didn't realize the Bengals were playing us in NRG? Andy Dalton on the road in this stadium. I feel better. It's important that the Texans beat the Steelers.
I remember this time last year, we were saying that the Titans/Jags were automatic wins. What was the record vs. the Titans/Jags last year? I can't remember but it wasn't 4-0. I don't think it would surprise anyone if Blake Bortles gets his first career win vs. you know who.
