Well, the games are "interesting," competitive. The team hasn't been "blown out" or humiliated. They are gamers, and that is something. They really look like a work in progress. The coaches are trying different players and combinations of players. They may get it right eventually. Got to resolve the QB problem. Fitz is not the future, maybe not even the present.

For the same reason that I think we will beat Pittsburgh, I think we will beat the Eagles.

When given little time, Foles has really struggled when he is getting hit.

He gets rattled easily and so much so that there franchise won't call him the franchise just yet.

That OL they have is worse than ours. That is saying a lot.

Optimism: the offense is getting better
Pessimism: the defense (outside of JJ Watt) is getting worse

While I understand your frustration with Fitz and for the most part am on board with you.

His play last night is good enough to win a lot of games if our defense plays well.

Well it'll be harder because we won't have the home field advantage or the advantage of playing there on a short week. I'd love to beat the Colts in Indy, but I can't pencil in that as a win like I can the 4 games in Tennessee and Jacksonville, the MNF game against the Steelers, and the Browns game.

I think too many of you are sleeping on the Steelers - their strength (speedy deep threats) is our Kryptonite. Not to mention a top-line RB - another weakness. I could see that one getting ugly early. I would think the Eagle game is a far more realistic surprise - Foles looks ordinary; McCoy is either hurt, or the OL is in disarray, and their defense isn't exceptional. Plus, it's at NRG.

I think they're going to get drilled next Monday.

I think the Texans would have to play flat while the Steelers play out of their minds for Pittsburgh to win. I think it'll be a fairly close game, but with Clowney coming back and the Texans having significant rest, we should win.

Losing to the Steelers would be the embarrassing throw in the towel on the season and tank moment.

That's what the optimist in me says.

But the pessimist in me thinks 2 our of TDs were pretty flukey and the game wasn't nearly as close as the final score.

    1. The bizarre illegal formation penalty that gave us a 1st down on the FG try. I don't think that guy was lined up over the Center

    2. JJ's TD. As awesome as it was, it was a pretty flukey play. Luck wasn't even hit that hard, if at all.

I never felt like we were going to win last night. Every time we got some momentum, something bad would happen.

That's very possible, but I can't give us the Eagles game for some reason.

And you are completely right, but TY Hilton isn't going to put up 223 yards again.

That defense was getting killed by there miscommunication.

I will come back more positive for you and say that the one guy who could run with TY was out yesterday.

Daryl Morris. We missed him badly.

And can the Texans please use there TY on the roster.

    Damaris Johnson
    Wide Receiver #13

Could we please incorporate him in to the offense more. This guy is the best speed threat we haven't had since Andre fell untouched against Pittsburgh.

I think that is fair, but the contrast in QB capabilities last night was a bit much to take. A quality QB can make more difference than any other position on the field. JJ Watt almost won the game, but Luck actually did.

Yes, but at this point it is on the coaches to put Fitzpatrick in a position to succeed.

I think we can all agree that Fitz is a great back shoulder passer. Let him do what he does best from the get go.

    He can move the ball.

The coaching thus far smells of rookie coach, but saying that I think BO'B will be a good one for a long time. I just think we are watching the growth of our team(These two losses have been better than anything we did through the first four games anyways). I got all excited that O'Brien was going to WWF the ref on the sideline. Players want to see that too.

Uhm... OK, I guess. I don't think the Steelers are an appreciably good team - but any suggestion that they're clearly inferior to the Texans - who are 5-17 over their last 22, including 1-9 on the road, seems silly.

You're greatly overestimating Clowney's impact, IMO. He's played 2Qs and has a ways to go until he's even cleared, let alone up to speed, let alone playing like a 5-year veteran. As with above, the assertion he's prime Demarcus Ware a week from Monday seems silly.

Ohhh-kay....... Somebody obviously hates the Steelers.....

No I don't particularly feel strongly one way or the other about the Steelers but given their talent level, that's a game the Texans should win when rested. If they can't beat the Steelers, they might as well tank. Talent-wise, it's pretty close to the same as the Buffalo game only we'll have Clowney back.

.... I, uh... hmmm... Buffalo has a better defense; the Steelers have a *much* better QB and appreciably better weapons. That Steeler offense is loaded - if Ben is on, they can score points. If it were here, I'd lean closer to your opinion. But in Pittsburgh, on a Monday night... I fully expect the Texans to get crushed.
