Looking at our 3rd string PG, I'd say that Hollis Price might not have been such a bad pick. He was the big 12 player of the year in a league that featured TJ Ford and Kirk Hinrich. How crazy is it to think he could more valuable than Mike Wilkes?

Frankly, it does not compute. This thread started off with a moronic claim about CD yet if EG was known to be heading towards disaster, or at least real trouble, why wouldn't the owner have stepped in and seen to it that the problem was dealt with.

If the owner was kept from knowing UNLIKELY, HIGHLY UNLIKELY then heads would (or will) certainly roll!

CD is respected throughout the league as one of the best, so this is a terriably immature statement to make about a man who has been a proven winner overall in his area for probably, what, over half your life on earth to this point?

WHo has a crystal ball on people making it in this league? How about props for Cattino then? Would you know a moron if you saw one?

Caution, items in mirror are closer then they look.

Jonathan Feigen was asked about who came up with deals, approved them, etc. on a radio call in show during last season. He said that usually Rudy or someone on the personnel staff would come up with an idea or CD would be called with an offer from another team. It would be discussed among the entire staff. If there was a concensus to try and make a deal, they would go to Les with it (particularly if the deal was fairly significant) and get final approval.

In the case of the draft, EVERYONE on the staff was involved in setting up draft boards, suggesting workouts, etc.

His assertion was that the ULTIMATE say so came down really to two people: Les and Rudy. CD's primary job was to man the phone and work out deals/contracts once a decision had been made.

So, if you want to be pissed over Nachbar, the whole staff deserves the blame.

I'm not defending CD. I'm saying that if you want to FIX the problem (instead of just whining and complaining), you should actually look at who is making the decisions.

Uh... yea. Why would you want that Kareem Rush guy on your team? Worthless. Especially as a #28 or #29 pick. Thank GOD we have Boki.

Rush is a shooter with no D. Did you see how many defensive assignments he messed up? If he were playing for JVG, he'd be sitting at the end of the bench.

I think this thread is reason #1,096 why the Admins are complete morons for allowing people to start a "Why didn't we get this guy" thread every time a player plays well against us. :p

So CD only sets up the "deal". To FIND the deal it was Rudy or someone on the personnel staff?

See, that is what I am talking about. If this falls on JVG then this falls on him too. But this summer there will be GOOD Players available. This team has to be PROACTIVE and try to make moves. I dont know JVG's track record of trying to go all out to get players but if this team wants to get to the next level they are going to have to be PROACTIVE this summer and stir up the trade waters.

CD shouldn't be just TAKING calls....he should be MAKING them. That's all I am saying.

I don't like bringing up drafts for many reasons.

First of all you can't expect how these players are going to turn out on and off the court.

You take picks on what you need for your team or their scouting reports.

Sometimes you get lucky and other times you end up with a bust.

Remember we picked mobley in the second round.
