The attorney's fees does seem to be appalling. I don't see it as being evidence at all for "tort reform", which is largely just another example of corporate power wanting to be held unaccountable. Using similar logic you could for instance oppose Enron employee suits as just being another example of law suit abuse. I would suspect that there may be a case for HOA being heavily regulated. It would be interesting to hear from the other side. I also wonder if Houston's unique lack of zoning is leading to any of this. Is this mainly a Houston or Texas phenomena?
