His PER last year was 12.9.

There were 43 NBA centers with PER higher than that?

bringing back that lunch thread with adelman isn't looking so bad now, eh?

some of y'all are spoiled little brats..what do you want, dwight howard backing up Yao? Of course Mille isn't in his prime, that's why he's going to be a back up, but washed up he isnt. Hill isnt going to put up better numbers as a back up at the 5. Neither is chuck. Definitely not DA. this guy will give you what the other back ups can, plus he can actually shoot, which is huge in this offense.

that being said, i agree we need to know the money/yrs to evaluate this completely, but i think it's safe to say Morey won't overpay.

It is amazing how people rip these guys apart. I couldn't believe some of the criticism people were offering of Chandler's game when the talk was we were trading for him. There are so few quality centers/big men in the league. There aren't even enough of them around to fill all of the starting positions. I really don't know who they expect us to get as a back up.

There is a reason Darko Milicici just got a 20 million dollar deal. There is a reason Drew Gooden just got a 34 million dollar deal. There is a reason Johan Petro just got 10 million. Quality big men are HARD to find.

2 years ago, this would have excited me.

I suppose he'll do if he comes cheaply. He really looked slow and ineffective last season. But it isn't as if there are a lot of good backup bigs out there right now and he does know the system...

Brad Miller was awful last year. There were games where I just couldn't believe how truly awful he had become. He is our Juwan Howard...

Miller had a rather striking drop in production last season. Let's hope it was more an aberration than a trend.

Good mentor to the young guys. Will push Jordan Hill as a backup at the 5. Hopefully he won't see minutes but as good as an insurance policy as you could ask for. End of David "Anti-Birdman" Anderson.

Team looking for backup C, what do you people expect? ****ing Dwight Howard?

Rockets picking up tranny street walkers, not high class Eliot Spitzer escorts.

    Stop b****ing.

Come on CH... Obviously Morey is an idiot. He should send Jeffries and the contract for Luenan to Orlando for Superman. He would be the perfect backup for Yao. You gotta give the folks what the want. Right?

I mean... That Miller character is way worse than nothing. He isn't an All-Star. He's like the 73rd best center in the league according to something I think I read once.

people, brad is a good acuisition. he's a 7 footer that can run the system, workin the pick and roll, motion offense, and spread the floor. he can give u close to 10ppg and can reduce yao's minutes. he also can give the rockets offense off the bench that hayes lacks. plus brad experience will help the younger players. he's a solid choice among rare big men. remember, he was killin the rockets last time.
