Yeah: History, National Geographic, Discovery, and Travel are the only "reality" shows/channels I watch, but those are all documentaries. "Reality" tripe like Big Brother and all that crap rots your brain.
outside of stuff on discovery and all which i consider more to be a documentary than reality I dont regularly watch any of them. If i do watch any of them its usually the cooking shows and thats more to see what the cook and how..i dont watch hell's kitchen its just annoying but i think food network has a show called chopped and iron chef but stuff like survivor, big brother, apprentice, bachelor and all never seen a single episode in my life.
I really only watch reality TV if it's on and there's nothing else. Shows that I typically surf so: Top Chef: Not a bad show and they do get right down to business which is good. Survivor: Every now and then, I'll loosely follow a season. Real Housewives: A guilty pleasure. These women are bat#*&^ insane and it can be amusing to watch. Also, Bethanny on New York is really hot. Hell's Kitchen: Is this a reality show? Kinda, I guess. Anything with Ramsey (thus, I watch Kitchen Nightmares too) is great.
Top Chef is the only one I really watch. My wife is a cook, so it's an industry standard for her. However, we'll be watching The Next Iron Chef this fall, since my wife's boss (Holly Smith of Cafe Juanita) will be competing to be an Iron Chef. No word on who she would take to be her 2 sous chefs, so my wife could be competing on future episodes of Iron Chef America.
Not sure how "reality" the Discovery channel ones are, but No Reservations is fun watching and I dig Deadliest Catch, the Colony has been interesting also. The original Kitchen Nightmares on BBC is fun, Ramsey is fun to watch on those, Hell's Kitchen not so much Amazing Race....get to briefly see places I'll never go, and I love to see how they deal with cultural and language issues Im watching Survivor for the first time this year, just to see how long that dip***** Russell lasts. Non of the other ones appeal to me, tho the wife enjoys Biggest Loser so I do see an ep here and there.
Completely forgot about that one. I'm pretty much a BBC freak. Kitchen Nigthmares, Top Gear, Skins...so much good stuff from the Brits.
BTW like most finale days on Discovery - they are running through the whole series today back to back. They just got the shower. Kind of startling to see how much cleaner the warehouse was when they started too...
Inside the NBA? Every once in a while I'll watch mtv's True Life. If it involve people sitting around in a house and "plotting" on one another, I'm probably not much of a fan.
yeah, jsut noticed that as I was looking for something after the local news was over, they are on Day 17 right now
I've noticed a lot of "non-reality TV snobs" ... almost as bad as the people that don't own a TV and have to let every single person they come in contact with know how they don't own one because they are so enlightened. To each their own I guess ... I really like Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother. Other than that I'll watch some here and there that my wife likes such as So you think you can dance and Hell's Kitchen.
I like watching the TUF series and I also like watching the 24/7 series for whatever boxing match is coming up.
