Green has a better career three point percentage. 7 seasons he has averaged over 40 percent Not much between them
it isn’t horrible but he isn’t as powerful and moves better off screens than prime Wes Matthews. I liked the Danny Green and Redick comparisons a little more.
Herro is overrated on CF. They would rather trade away better players for their great white hope. Pathetic.
Thing is , his contributions go further than simply points , its the defense & the efficiency he gets his shots / points. He's getting those 16ppg as an afterthought in the offense - just playing within the game. Kinda reminds me of Klay Thompson. Great shooter , great defender , needs the table set for him offensively to get those open shots.
Mathews has played 3 seasons, with limited time. Two of those he’s averaged/averaging 41%. Spurs Green is probably the most accurate assessment of where Mathews can be. Similar size with Mathews being thicker and stronger. Green is probably a little faster and Mathews is a better leaper. Similar defensively
Hybrid of Jon Barry / Bob Sura. A smart, scrappy player with one hell of a motor. A straight up dog that just hustles and will never back down. Although he has a bit of a sniper in him he can do a little bit of everything. Definitely no one trick pony. I think his celing is pretty much what we see now. Which is all good!
The problem is, how do you establish a rhythm if you don't take shots? Also, once you've hit a few, you're in rhythm, so why not take more shots?
Why can’t he be a 20+ point player? I’m seriously curious. He hasn’t had much trouble hitting around 20 without taking a ton of shots. His TS% this season is nearly .7, which is absurd.
Agree with this. He's probably hit his ceiling right now. That's not a negative thing, he's playing really well right now. Can't ask anymore from a non-super star max player
His ceiling is championship role player. Or even higher, kid has only played 3 NBA seasons and has consistently improved from rotation player to starter.
He's right at his peak now. Can improve marginally before athleticism fades. Hakeem had highest years of PER in his 30's. Harden was better age 27 to 30 than at 25, so possible to get better. This is his 3rd year, not like he totally snuck up in league. But his fit is maximized in this Rockets situation. I'd say Portland version Wes Matthews is a decent comp
