I'm glad he said this about himself. I'm encouraged because it shows that he does have some level of self-awareness in regards to his limitations. This is the exact thing I was talking about when I posted. He is a good shooter and a hustle player. He doesn't need to get caught up in his own hype and start trying to do things that are clear weaknesses. That is what ruined Danuel House on this team. He got in his head that he could start shooting step-back 3 pointers, that he was a playmaker, started bringing the ball up the court, hitting guys with wild crossover dribbles, and his out of control drives to the basket. Spot up 3 pointers and defense got him paid. Same as Gary. Dance with who brought you.

He'll be a key contributor to this team when they start winning consistently in a couple of seasons hopefully. Every contending team needs a player like him.

    A Manustep away from Ginobili?
Just pretend Matthews arrived from Bologna last month. 25 years old. Now he's averaging 11.5 per game and is a pest defensively with those charges.

Mathews is great at spot up shots. Lately he's been forcing stuff a little more and clanking or missing the rim outright. A little too Gerald Greeny for my liking. Needs to chill, be in position and not force stuff.

I think he’s gonna be an invaluable role player . A significant contributor on a good team (eventually ours). I have a pretty high opinion of Mike Miller. I doubt he can be Mike Miller, who is a lot more talented, but he can definitely be an important player for us for a long time. I’m a big fan. Not everyone has to be an all star.

Silas should start Mathews with Tate.

This is fine for now. I think as soon as next year both Matthews and Tate will be coming off the bench as valuable role players. It will depend a lot on what we get in the draft and what we do with Wood. If we get either Chet, Banchero, or Jabari, Tate will definitely go to the bench. I would love to see us swing a deal for Reddish (re-sign him) and draft a PF. A line-up of KPJ, Green, Reddish, Pf, Sengun with Tate, Matthews, KMJ, Garuba and maybe even Gordon coming off the bench would be very competitive for the playoffs next year.
