Just Bleezy, the comments of mine that you quoted are a perfect response to your remarks as well. I do not consider my appraisal as negativity or bashing. The reality is that the only thing that has changed is a spectacular performance by TMac and an expected performance by Ming. The supporting cast did little, and again, at the 2:00 minute mark, half the crowd had left and the remaining fans were loudly booing. This giddy interlude to the rest of the season is wonderful, but temporary. Yes, we should enjoy it, but it is not unreasonalble to ask if we can expect this every night: 40+ mininutes of dreadful offensive ineptitude, followed by an early crowd exit, several minutes of booing, and a NBA record setting finish by a superstar. Fantasy and reality are always a choice. Incidently, the recent negativity on the board is a reasonable response to some incredibly boring, listless, and uninspiring play. The Rockets struggled to beat two of the worst teams in the league, looked punchless doing so (according to Clutch) and have a losing record overall. Beating the best team in the league is a real boostl. Some excellent defense was played, and NBA history was made. All Wonderful. Except this team desperately needs some changes to continue winning. And that is what we all want. When will I be happy? When we expect to beat the best teams in the league. I think that is going to take a while and some major changes in personnel. If you think that is negativity and bashing, so be it.
REALLY??? is drug use that high?? how in the world can you look at this roster and think this is a 50 win team??? i don't get it.
That my friend is the basis of my argument that this team needs some personnel changes and quick. There is enormous potential with the right supporting cast. And it is painfully obvious, even last night, that the Rockets don't have one. Given the right offensive schemes and the right complimentary players this team can win 50 easily. But who are they, and how do we get them, and I am not talking about first tier players?
solid -- i agree..but that's not gonna happen, as you said. soooo..i'm still left with the question of who realistically thought this was a 50 win team??? if you thought that, your expectations were out of whack.
Well then my expectations were out of whack. But why can't some personnel moves be made? The Knicks took Moochie and Orlando took on Cato's outrageous contract. Its like Ebay; value is in the eye of the beholder.
in the beginning of the season we all said that this season wont be our contending year and we still had a couple more moves to do, CD may be waiting on next year so that he can take a look at expiring contracts and free agents the following season... whats the rush? if we get a decent pf now than a real good one in the offseason which one would you get? i thought you guys were patient, i was wrong. IMO, our team is doing better than i expected with all the scrubs we have, i can stand this year, but wait till next season when we aquire some big time pf
They may be, I hope you are right. I don't mean to be impatient, but I have followed TMac since he came into the league. He is an insane talent, Jordanesque, and he is 25! The potential upside on Ming is hard to gauge, but it is not unreasonable to expect improvement. Therefore, with a reasonalbly good PG and a strong rebounding PF the Rockets are a serious contender. That creates alot of anticipation of what could be. Last night is a glimpse of what could be albeit a short one.
Hi Solid, Relax. Yao Ming had 27 points last night. He was definitely there. I watched the game. There is a story, and hope you like it. Yao Ming went to the Chinese Restaurant he frequented to eat after Rockets had 5-lost streak. When he finished and was ready to pay, the waitress told him his bill had been taken cared of already. He was surprised. Turning his head, he saw a black lady waving to him and said to him "keep it up, Rockets need you." Yao Ming was touched. He didn't disappointed the lady. The next three games he scored 20, 21, and 27. Let's give our players some support.
I have been one of Ming' biggest supporters, but his start to this season was disappointing. Recent improvements are noted, but he can improve even more.
if by Chew them out you mean beat them with a stick . .then yea I agree They need that bobby Knight treatment Rocket River
