I would love to see him go, but I think he's here for the long run... It's still to early to tell if he's a bust or not. I'll just wait for him to start hitting shots, and play with solid ball movement. This guy is worst than tmac at stopping the ball, even though I don't think tmac is wrongly accused of doing so.
Damm, the guy has only been here for two months. The Rockets are in rebuilding mode and poised to get a good seeding in the playoffs--something nobody saw coming into the season. He's a MLE. Your not going to get a superstar as an MLE. Hopefully the guy will grow but it will take time. He knows what its like to win a championship Sheeez, get your panties out of bunch.
If a player is not playing to his contract, his contract is a garbage contract. TMAC, Yao, Cook are definitely garbage contracts. Their contribution is minimal but their contracts are hideous. Ariza, playing 40 minutes a night as a starter and contributing much more than MLE level, is a bargain. Your hatred should be stopped.
What the hell is the point of trading him? What do you expect to get back? Why do people think "I hate this guy, he suck, his contract is crap, lets trade him" and expect to get someone useful for him?
I know, lets trade Ariza, and give tmac back his spot. At least tmac can dribble the ball without running into three guys and almost falling down everytime he touches the ball....just a though...
who does fit? Hayes? Battier? Lowry? Brooks? Scola? fit what? A mediocre team with $40M resting? big deal.
All I wanted to know is how difficult it would be to off-load him if we need to should that time ever come. There are lots of teams who have given players bad contracts for the organizations, and I'd rather the rockets not be one of them. Trevor has time to fix his play for sure, but if it becomes clear that he is a lost cause, we need to get him gone yesterday.
I'm pretty sure if Ariza's on the market, plenty of teams would jump at the opportunity provided the Rockets just want cap relief. I would go further and say that a contender would easily be willing to part with a 1st round pick in such a scenario too. I am disappointed by Ariza's recent performances as anyone. But let's not kid ourselves. The guy would be a nice commodity on the open market. To start, Cleveland would certainly not mind getting him.
