We need a superstar in return for Shane. His impact is that great.

If Morey is looking to sell high on Brooks, then Calderon may be a good pickup.

While I love Brooks to death, I don't know if he is championship material. He is our biggest asset (in basketball rather than financial terms) and can bring us back ALOT.

I don't know about the financial side here but what if we were to go for a Calderon/Battier trade, rendering Brooks expnedible?

Could we get a big fish without giving up T-Mac's contract? Meaning we can then get a 2nd big fish while keeping our PG position Solid with a Calderon/Lowry combo?

Wizards want a PG for the future, and while I know this doesn't help them financially, They make go for Brooks without us needing to give up T-Mac.
Imagine acquiring Butler and still having the TMac contract for another All-star calibre player?

Jose Calderon is the worst defensive player in the NBA.

Greater shooter and passer, but . . . no, thanks.

Especially not for $9-10M per season, including over $10.5M in 2012-13.

Why do you think he is so available?

He does bring intangibles that don't show up in the box,but he can never get us a superstar by himself. He is a valuable role player, whose impact is diminishing slowly on this team. That isn't because he is deteriorating. It's because this team is weak, despite all the hard work they have put in.(Which is to be expected).

Shane aka intangibles is a favorite among the staff and fans, but the guy is offensively challenged at times. Sure he gives us that catch and shoot 3. Teams sag off him lately giving up that double team to landry. I see the rockets giving him up in a deal for a good young player in exchange for a great veteran leader.

The last line said Amir Johnson was mentioned in talks for Battier. I'd do it for Amir and Rasho. Moving Battier for those expirings makes an Iggy/Dalembert for T-Mac trade much more palatable and Amir has some upside.

I think they'll part with Shane if he is the hidden gym, that eventually lands Bosh during the offseason. Remember, NOBODY is "untouchable".

I think they'll sell Brooks high just to block Dallas out in any deal.

Look at who they want and who they are offering.

    Kevin Martin? Caron Butler? Battier?

    Rasho/Jose/ O'Bryant...seriously?

Calderon is the best player they are offering there and his defense negates pretty much anything he does offensively.

I'd LOVE to have JC uh, Jose, on the Rox - with Brooks' contract figures, that is.

Shane would be perfect for Toronto. He'd be their only guy who plays defense.

I'd only make the deal if we brought back expirings and Toronto's first rounder.

I mean, I can hope Morey has given up on the Bosh dream. At the same time, "Shane to the Raptors" might just be a "nothing to see here" kind of thing.
